pplater: today i met a k5 1000 rider n his gf who used to ride R6. they told me 1000cc fuel consumption is better then the R6 le. 18km/L vs 16km/L both stock and rode same style side by side in malaysia.

 

There are 2 problems with such a comparison. Firstly, a 1000cc has a higher optimum cruising powerband, ie to say, it cruises at good consumption at maybe 160km/h, as compared to a 600cc which cruises optimally at a lower speed.

 

Our super4 cruises optimally at 60km/h to 65km/h, 4k rpm. To have the R6 keep up with the k5 at the k5's optimal cruising powerband will obviously make the k5 look good on the wallet.

 

Next, we do not know how well serviced both bikes are. Either could be running rich, just washed carbs and not tuned properly etc. U get my point.

 

A fairer comparison is to look up both this bikes' specs in their threads to find out their normal consumption. As a rule of thumb, 600cc usually have better consumption than litre bikes of the same type in Singapore because u are operating it nearer to its optimal powerband than the litre bike.

prolly the moto gp bikes will design their race fairings to incorporate spoilers in the 2008 series.. muhahaha.. goodness.. wad will people think of next.. wipers on their windshield?? hahaha.. perhaps skirtings on the sides of the bikes... maybe a air-deodarant while they are at it..

i think its sumthing to do with the effective interest rate thingy..

 

You now take loan at 5% for three years..hence they gain 5% each year

 

Supposed u wanna settle early the next year.. coincidently, the interest rate drop to 3%..

 

Hence they can only reinvest that money that u paid which they are supposed to gain 5% each year.. to 3% each year..

 

Reduce interest rate = Loss of money = Charge you for it..

i understand ur explanation, but if im willing to pay back wad ever is remaining with the full interest? surely they wont lose out in anyway right?? so far my only experience with full payment is with teo spray, but they nvr charge any early settlement fee.

2.Asphoon-buying bikes

 

I myself is not ver keen on buying from bikeshop. Although alot of you argued that Asphoon bikes are expensive, it is compensated with excellent after sales service. Asphoon does not charge early settlement too.

 

Just my 2 cents worth. One man's meat may be another man's poison.

unique motor's tyres are dirt cheap and come with balancing. their serving is also priced competitively cos of the huge support they get from ows(wad i heard from insider)

 

asphoon unfortunately i had a terrible experience with them, but then again it was partially my fault cos i was a newbie then.

Off hand what are the prices of some tyres and spark plugs? My plugs can change anytime liao i think. about 20000km already..

got my M3 for 295 and balancing. ermm u can try their ows irridum and 15-50 maxima eo. its $130 including labour and honda oil filer. they also have cheaper packages if u budget.
