Python: i had a SE on me previous sporty. but pythons on other sporties sounded bass-ier. Sold me SEs and settled for me stock pipes thereafter. it was either python or stock for me. I have buddies who would swear by SEs. But then again it's subjective. Subject your ear-drums and choose ur thump-thump!

@stevenbarter:

Designer Dude is correct. On stock config, there really isnt much difference between both pipes in terms of dyno numbers. The Pythons do edge out the SEs a bit. It is up to your personal choice and riding style. For me... it would be the Pythons.

Cheers.

Hmmm.. he didn touch anything leh... i was thinking maybe next svc should try W40 instead... the thinner the better for FC. should be the same like car bah....

Anyway.. i really hope my fuel tank capacity is larger so no need to top up every day.

Anyway... why u sell ur sportie in the frist place.....Riding it is an enjoyment for me..haha:cheeky:

I think its common for a FC fluctuation of 3km/l from tank to tank.

The 'usual' FC of your bike can only be gauged with a much larger sample size.

FYI, my Sporty1200 was giving me about 22~24km/l on stock carb & AC

Bo pian, like I said, practicality set in and pocket agreed. Some more paymaster not treating me very well, so no choice from 3 bikes down to one. Still miss it but maybe next time, when I'm too old. lol. But doesn't mean we still can't ride? Shall we? btw, my current ride also makes a lot of noise. hee

I dun think the FC should drop so much leh due to diff EO, maybe monitor it a bit more then see how? If not, better go get it checked again. How bout your idle? Any changes in there? One of my friend's idle was quite high but I lowered it down to give it more of a gallop sound. My old bike also same, after lowering the FC went up.

Mine went to 17km/L. I dunno if

1) there's a leak somewhere where the petrol's gone, especially the fuel cap 'cos the locking mechanism is spoilt

2) because I ride to work too often. Stop and go has caused higher fuel consumption.

I think riding style has a lot to do with it also. I do short trips every day to work and back on CTE - 2nd, 3rd & 4th gear riding burn more fuel, I also do long trips and go much faster so burn more fuel. Over the past 21,200 Klm average has remained at 16 klm/ltr so you are both doing better than me. I did not notice any change either when changing to lower grade petrol (now use 95 because of the price increases) - still ok as HD has high compression engine. Only have periodic improvement when I go on longer rides with my wife becase riding style is less aggressive and a bit slower.

FYI I am on an EFI TC88B and the only mod is SE pipes. Of course I am also pulling a few more KG around than you guys. My prior ride was a sporty 1200 and it only averaged 17 Klm/ltr over the 10K klm I had it.

Cheers

My ex sporty with Phython 3 pipes and SE filters and had appx 28k km was doing 20-24lm/l depending on riding style and aggressive/excessive throttling.

Wow my cosumprtion was quite bad then. I did have SE pipes and air and the jets changed to allow more petrol flow. But hey what the heck it sure was a lot of fun to ride. :) :)

I'm pretty amazed that a class 2 bike can get 20km/l or more actually. You don't find it on many or any in fact. Though my current ride gave me 22km/l last I checked. Heee. I think tuning it also makes a big difference. My ex sporty was pretty well tuned in my opinion, and current ride, after I did my valve clearance and tuning etc, jumped at least 4km/l or more. Wee!!!!

Was just admiring a VROD coming out of TM earlier 2nite, was kinda surprised to not hear any thumping.

When it rode past, noticed tt the exhaust seemed stock, with 'baffles'???

Kinda un-HD feel...

Wonder how's the power of the VRODs compared to the other Big-Twins

Wonder y my ST11 dun look as good as my SV...
