Today i went to HD Singapore to look at accesories.

Saw a handlebar which i fancied and ask the service guy how long it will take to install as i wasnt too bother to do it myself.

his answer was shocking. "5 hours"

I said, " so long just to change handlebar? non concealed cables leh"

Then he replied " around there lah, 3 to 4 hours"

I told him," I'm not doubting you but i dont see how changing compatible handlebars can take much longer than an hour." (I was holding the handlebar in his full view)

Anyway, I take it that it's my fault since i didnt make it crystal clear to him.....maybe he thought i was doing a big time custom job.

I dont know much about harleys but i've changed many handlebars myself with fairly great ease within the hour usually in 30 to 45 mins. The only issue is getting the left side grip out because i have no air pressure hose to do that.

To me it is simply:-

Line the tank with cloth. 3 secs

Remove cable ties 3 mins

Loosen all bolts carefully. 8 mins

Ease and Slide out throttle grip, left grip and left right controls 10 mins

remove clamp fully and replace with new handlebar 2 mins

Ease and slide in left right controls and throttle and left grip. 10 mins

Tighten all bolts carefully 8 mins

Adjust alignment and fully tighten all bolts 5 mins

Voila!

Are HDs any different, can someone with experience enlighten please.

Shame on me, I got no idea who is the in-charge~ :o

IMO if this happens to me, I will just let it be~ don't wanna make it a bigger issue, wait the mech kenna screw by his manager~ hehe :p

I did service my dyna (eg change EO, check battery, tire pressure, etc) at HD before while I still have the free service. It took them hours (about 4-5 hours?) to complete the job, well I am ok with it since I was already asked to leave my ride for a day at the service department.. so I put my ride there while I was chatting away with HD staff~ can't 100% blame them as I can see they had a handful of bikes to take care of~ :)

Or have you try getting help from Tony or Ah Yee~? :p
