Any of you attended the 105th anniversary ride / event in marina y'day?

 

I was there yesterday. Joined the convoy at Demsley to the Singapore Flyer. Tagged along a local bike club and made our way there via Orchard Road. This was my first convoy and i really enjoyed it, despite the rain. I guess Harleys are mend to ridden in a group... Nevertheless, thanks to the bike club members who allowed me to tagged along and shared the experience with me (you know who you are ). A bunch of great guys. Looking forward to the next convoy. Cheers.

Well Don Juan, you don;t have to wait long for the convoy, this coming November 2nd, there'll be a wedding convoy, if you'd like to tag along with the riders from this forum.....?????

Will take note of this November Convoy. You have put it on another thread rite. However, November abit hard to roster so much in advance. May be out of the country due to work commitments. Nevertheless, thanks for the reminder, will take note of it, and the 2 ladies which you had taken the pics with that made my day that particular monday morning is still deeply rooted in my mind. Ya, i didn't know that there were so many motorcyle clubs and so many Harleys in Singapore. Strange then, how come on the roads i seldom see any whilst riding.

 

What i enjoyed most was the journey from Dempsley to the flyer. Pedestrians waved at me.... tourists waved and flash cameras at me.... the auntie driving her Lexus with her daughters in the car smiled and waved at me.... wow.... it was like participating in the Chingay.... ha ha.

 

The food harley catered was also quite good. Went to pinch 2 servings of their fishes and chickens.... despite buying my own food. What an enjoyable Saturday.

IIRC, in WOW, there's rides that can shorten your travelling time.

 

Same for CabalSEA, in which one may have the chance to get a drop off a monster. You literally get a "bike-key" and can summon an "astral bike"

it not uncommon for most harley owners to have a 2nd bike for daily use.

It's also more common for HD riders to be driving a car as main transport, HD is just a toy for evenings or weekends.

Hi all, just some noob question on Harley bike. How much does a brand new 883 cost ? and hows the maintainace like? very expensive? or maybe 1-2yrs 2nd hand 883 is ard wat cost (with average milage)? I am totally clueless to harley , pls advise,thanks alot guys.

Many models of XL883.

883L, 883C, 883R etc.....

 

I think prices range from $16k to about $20k.

Just call HD singapore to check on current promotions or deals.

 

Secondhand 1 - 2 yrs probably $13k to $17k depending on condition , model, mods , mileage etc.....

 

More expensive to maintain compared to Jap bike.

But overall still cheap.

If wanna get the cheapest one just to get a feel i suggest u just get a normal 2nd hand one....Got one selling 9K only in the forum...nicely done up...go search... its an almost 10 year old bike....but Harleys have lasting engines i believe...

harley maintenance not that expensive... almost the same as maintaining jap bikes.. it only gets expensive when you start to get addicted to customising it.. once you start, you can't stop... that's when it gets really expensive.

Depends on whether you prefer Carb or EFI model.

The newer models are EFI.

 

but, there is no big cruiser feeling for a sportster.

It's more of a standard roadbike bike feel.

Get a secondhand if you dont want to spend much.

There are a couple of nice looking ones around. all under $10k.

Sporty is not expensive regardless of model.

 

Like Lun suggested, you can get one with mid controls and change the seat to the Reach seat. No problems at all

 

Although I have no problems with riding my sporty,, I still change my seat to a Solo reach seat. it's very comfortable and gives a "bucket" seat feel
