Hi Guys,

I forgot to add the link to the gloves.

I have a total new, never been worn Berik leather gloves in white. This pair is very comfortable and suitable for race or long rides. Size is 'L'. Below is a link of the gloves. I bought it new at SGD $220 and selling it at SGD $180.

Bike starts, but doesn't idle, doesn't run. Throttle feels heavy. Carb overflows everyday (Damn my float valve).

Time to get my carb and settings checked. Have to tow to get it checked coz I can't get past 60kph on the move, and when I stop, it dies!!

#(@^%&^(#@%

So much for buying a cheap pre-loved bike and rebuilding it when I don't have the time to do it myself!! =/

Might want to check the fuel c0ck too, mine gave me problems similar to yours before I changed it.

Was futzing around with the bike and found that the top block sparkplug has fouled.

This is my 3rd plug in 2 months. You guys experience this too?

Not easy to find NGK-7 sparkplugs these days...

Sounds like your carbs need servicing. The other symptoms you mentioned before could easily be due to valve clearance issues and timing belt problems. Sometimes it's hard to pinpoint the exact etiology of the problem but servicing your carbs, getting a valve clearance done and changing your timing belts should fix the problems.

Unless you've got proof that it has been through this servicing recently, you shouldn't be too worried, only a hole in your pocket :)

I sent it to Raymond for servicing 1 week right after I got the bike. Carbs were serviced, timing belts and rollers changed, valve clearance checked.

So, what's next?

So you did do a full service? Valve clearance was checked? Cos i had the same problem before and that was because my valve clearance was way off. So maybe it went off and it was time for it to be done. Costs around 200 bucks to do it if my memory serves me right.

I'm not sure cos whatever you mentioned had an uncanny resemblance to the problems i faced prior to doing my full service, and after that, it was perfect. Never gave me a single problem since.

I could be wrong though cause all bikes are different but you definitely should go get it checked out again.

wow, big bore kit? Is it safe to do? How about the annual inspection? I haven't even ridden my 696 but already tempted by this option. Wonder how much more performance it will give..

Nothing done to tuning, or exhaust when sent to Raymond. Bike totally stock. SERIOUS carb overflow issue. Looking for replacement float valve to fix it. May go with Dynojet parts if can't find OEM by next week.

Where's the fuel **** and pump located? I'm going to strip the bike tonight and check it out.

=)
