Hi all,

Need some advice from fellow riders.

i'm interested in getting a 696 and understand that it does require any coolant since its a air cooled system.

Since it does not require any coolant, does it make it easier to get heated up then those running on liquid cooled.

Especially for SG that is typically hot and with all jam around. Will it be too harsh for the engine?

Sometimes if the weather is nice i will ride to work (office hour) not to mention the jams n etc. Till now my air-cooled bike has no problem at all.

Hey dude just buy n ride la. Modern ducs are more reliable than those old ones. And no words can describe an italian ride! CHeers!

Ecu are preset to cut off after a certain temp. As far as i can remember it would be 118 degrees. But until date i have not heard of anyone's engine cutting off due to temp.

Pls read the whole thread for general knowledge. Most of the commonly asked qns have been mentioned before.

Morning ducarians !

Planning to sell my CBR1000RR for a Duc 696 .. Gonna stop tracking for abit and get a bike for commuting .. Its always a dream to ride a duc, who knows 1 day i wld upgrade to panigale, So heres the question =X I am going to look for a 2nd hand one .. any ideas what i should look out for ? they always say " you never know what happened to the bike before ". Also i read alot on the forums about 12k 24k svc, my work place is pretty near my house, i would only choke up 10K mileage on a annual basis so I'm not too worried about that and having said that, track bike costs alot more to maintain so i think the basic commuting duc shld be fine.. so please give me your opinions ! Should i look out for the mileage ? the best year model for 696 ? and shops to look for ? loois / imotoring / minerva / excel ?!?

I have yet to ride my il monstro eversince I last refuel..so here's another set of problem(shes getting old!)

Before, I posted that the bike was underpowered and I guess the fuel filter might be the caused of It.

So today, guessing that she's alright, I decided to start her, then right after pressing the starter..I heard this loud 'thuck' sound..Checked her and found out that the wires connecting to the engine was off so I guess Its the starter wire, but I'm more worried about the sound that Is coming off whenever I tried to start It.

What could It be? Gonna tow her to raymond when I have the time. Just wanna know what might be the cause of It.

Hi guys,

Am new to the Monster.. Would like to know if anyone is familiar with what kinda touring bags can fit securely on the monster 696?

Am looking for tail/side bags that are of good size for a 7 day trip up to thailand. Anybody got recommendations?

Thanks very much!

Chiap lee's viper saddlebags may work for you. About 100 odd. For tail packs get dowco or joe rocket helmet packs on eBay!

Dreamed I was a muffler. Woke up exhausted.

Could be weak or defective battery, loose wiring or starter motor needs replacement. Cheers!

I wont say that ur track bike would cost more then a communing ducati.

I always give the same advise. Set side 2k for maintenance per yr for a ducati.

Hey Dodo !

Certainly agree !

Thats why i want a problem free 696 .. not sure what to look out for.

Also i have a good source for battery for bikes, it starts my blade like a charm even after 3 weeks of not riding.

Gonna want to put that into the duc, will there be a problem ?

Also, setting aside 2k for maintenance ? wow ! thats alot, however if you are including the service light reset then i guess thats why but still .. 2k seems alot !
