Price range i think abt the same..

Cos the other tyme i had my screws change for my KTM,RXK,Vespa.. All from there..

I cant tell wt the shop's name.. cos i don know.. i just know how to get there..

Directions :

From Ah-Boy.. Go straight & turn left (there used to be a police post)..

Just then take another left..

Look on your left cos there will be this one shop selling only screws..

Why not like dis..

Sumtimes these guys very "Ngiau" wen u buy small quantity..

I suggest we consolidate the amnt needed then buy one shot?

i cant do mine rite not cos my "Beast" is sleeping @ Mike's right now..

a tailchop is not the only solution if you want a clean tail .... only bad thing about it is that it is irreversible short of welding it back on, and that waterproofing will be compromised somewhat. also must make a bracket for the plate after chop.

The Americans love tailchops ... tidy up the lines. I miss my duke, with the mod tail.

Cheers

If you ride fast enough, the water wouldn't spray on your back! :D

Seriously, even with the stock fender and all, my rear seat is always splattered after wet weather riding. I think it will be much worse without the tail piece.

Yo GalantD,

I am also interested in getting all those screws. When will you be fixing them all?? I'll get the screws list from you, buy the screws then meet you up to change all the screws! : )

Anyone else keen on this? Lets go buy the screws together so that we can buy more from the shop (big customer).

Scroll on the last few pages. I already put the list(For Cosmetics Area) there. For the Engine Area Screws, i yet to change them thus am not able to compile the exact required amount for you guys. For my own case as i am too lazy to count the quantites for each size so i just bought 15pcs on each different size that i can find on our engine area, so happens to be all Allen Cap Screws at M6 - length denominations like 25, 30, 35, 40 & 45. Put it at an average of 15 screws required for each length then at $0.20/pc, it's only $15 to get them all and i am sure you will have surplus. I myself now already got a small bag of S/S screws as spares.... But, what the Heck! Better to have spare then you find 1 or 2 shortage and must travel all the way downtown to buy just a couple.

What i bought:

S/S Allen Cap Screws(For Engine Area):

15pcs each.

1. M6 x 25

2. M6 x 30

3. M6 x 35

4. M6 x 40 -- I think for this size, 5pcs should be enough.

5. M6 x 45 -- I think for this size, 10pcs should be enough.

Please buy the Conventional S/S304 instead of S/S316 as the are harder and stronger.

For Cosmetic Areas Screws.

SUS 304 Allen Cap Screws:

M5 x 8mm - 2nos - Tank Cap

M5 x 25mm - 3nos - Tank Cap

M5 x 16mm - 2nos - Throttle Handle

M6 x 25mm - 4nos - Brake/Clutch Reservoir Clamp

M6 x 45mm - 2nos - Pipe Hanger

M6 Nut and Flat Washer - 6nos/ea - Pipe Hanger

M6 x 16mm - 2nos - Ignition Cover

M8 x 75mm - 4nos - Handle Bar Clamp

SUS 304 CSK(+) Head Screws:

M4 x 12mm - 4nos Brake/Clutch Reservoir Cover

Vince>> I don't think that water flicking onto the back of your shirt is going to be a problem as long as the mudguard stays but i could be mistaken here. So you ordered the tail chop kit? If you are willing, perhaps you could send me a PM when it arrives so i can meet up with you and maybe i could help you get the thing fixed up and at the same time can see the net effect for myself. if it really looks good i may order a set for myself too. :goodluck:[/b]

Hi blackreplica,

okie okie... I am going for it. Flick or not flick, the tail gotta go off.

I have place order for Ducati Monster Fender Eliminator:

http://www.1tail.com/sa/cart/detail.asp?pg...E-8767EC7C6721}

I might not be able to remember to send you a PM when the item arrive. But I promise I'll try okie.

Haha.. Using my bike to test the chop chop eh...

Yeah, I'm willing to share the tailchop DIY probably at an open MSCP.

So maybe some monster kakis can come by and also DIY their bike and some touchup.

Cheers!

Hi folks, I've already bought the screws for the cosmetic area. As what GalateD said, abit tuff to get them to do it in small quantites. So sorry that I didn't get extra sets, cuz I was getting them during office hours so abit gan jiong already.

Anyway how about gathering on monday for a screwing exercise? Public holiday should be quite good for most peeps out there right?

maybe _kb_ can also join in.

PS:

If any of you folks want, I took GalanteD's measurements and just put them into a Word document. Printed it out and passed it to the uncle. PM me your emails if you want it.

Take note : When installing screws, esp for the engine area, its good practice to use loctite, so the screws don't work themselves loose.

One bottle can last for very very long, can share also. Use medium strength will do, don't get the evil red loctite.

Yeah the speedo is working, but the reserve light is constantly on. Outlook wise i think the bike is in quite bad shape. Trying to do up bit by bit, a new paintwork would be of the highest pirority but have to plan budget first.
