The more big bikes there are, the merrier mah. However, don't know whether the insurance will go up due to more big bikes accidents or go down due to many riders buying big bikes...

I think so, and there will be more shoot-out along the road :help:

But I don think there will be changes for now at least, I have read a thread in this forum reguarding request for a cancellation of tier motorcycle licence in Singapore. But the authority (TP) has write in to kindly reject the request.

The current system make us think that having a class 2 bike from a start is a long way to go. So that we all will behave ourselves on the road. For such a small country, an accident on the road, especially on highway, will cause the country to suffer for its loss of resources (late of dilvery of goods, ambulance, police...) & time. So the current system will help at least a little, I think.

ya, me too, think now the license tier system in Sigapore is fine loh..

not like Malaysia.. once you reach 18 or 21 (I forgot) then can straight away take class 2 liao... no need upgrade class by class one...

You know why? How often do you see a 400cc and above bikes bearing Malaysian registration number on Malaysian roads? That's why their system is different from ours...

i'm sure that if people were to hop onto a big cc bike (600 and above) when they're just on their Ls/Ps, they'd pretty much be a hazard on the road and to themselves...:slapforehead:

imagine the amoutn of uncontrollable wheelies that would end up in crashes, not to mention the inability to control the power of the bike. :giddy: scary thought.

Sigh. thank God malaysians are poorer and are less able to afford big bikes to start with.... dont' want to see many riders dying... :weep:

Aust's system:

Ls - 6 months (250cc max for sports class)

Ps- 2 years (250cc max for sports class)

Full License - (0cc - however big you want your bike to be)

i prefer the system here :thumb:

hmmmmmmmmm your statement holds merit.

my phrase was poorly structured. let me amend and rephrase it. :sorry:

*Ahem*

A generic majority of Malaysian riders are economically more stringent (due to dollar and ringgit value) in comparison to their Western (and to a lesser extent, Singaporean) counterparts. Hence, their ability to afford and maintain a bigger bike becomes a little harder (albeit not impossible), at least that is what i gathered from my biker friends back home.

didn't mean to offend anyone lah. it's just my opinion :thumb:

Thanks Abang Aie for pointing it out
