Hello ZX10R riders,

Does any of u experienced throttle position sensor problem in yr ZX10R?

Read in the zx10r.net forum that this is a common fault in ZX10Rs.

Btw do any of u changed the horn on the ZX10R before?

If you just smash the cat into smithereens, I don't think it'll help improve the airflow much. You need to ideally replace the honeycomb internals with a straight through pipe that leads from the entry to the exit of the muffler. Without a pipe, the exhaust gases will just all 'jumble' up together, creating a turbulence inside the muffler. This will impede instead of improve the airflow.

My thoughts are to just go for a street legal aftermarket muffler, like Akra, of the straight through kind instead of this DIY. There're other exhaust dynamics (eg. pipe diameter, perforations of the pipe, etc) the aftermarket manufacturer will take into the design instead of our backyard work :)

About $200-$210 if I'm not wrong from the Kawa agent, Evershine. Comes pre-painted... Or you can go for the entire tail piece replacement that gets rid of the pillon seat altogether permanently from SharkSkinz :)

I asked Evershine and they quoted me $220 already painted.

Do any of u feel the ZX10R's ride height is quite high?

Is it possible to lower the ZX10R's ride height?

Coz when i sit on the ZX10R, I need to tiptoe to keep the bike upright. Imagine how difficult it would be at traffic lights, manoevering the ZX10R at heavy jams and reverse parking the bike.

My height is 1.64 btw. :weep:

Issit really that high?? I got feedbacks frm my fren riding ZX10R saying that he have no prob wif the height... but well of course he's abt 1.7m at least.

Probably when i mention his Height.. we already knoe the answer of "Do any of u feel the ZX10R's ride height is quite high?"

But i'm sure u cld adjust the settings for the rear Suspension.

Actually if you know how to adjust the way you sit, it's not really that bad at traffic lights. That means, adjust your butt so that your right leg can touch the ground. The bike may be slanted a bit but you'll get used to it. I too tried the ZX10R and I too stand on tip toe. The funny thing is, I'm a bit taller than you at 1.72m. If you do intend to get that bike, you'll just have to practice maneuvering it until you get use to it. :goodluck:

First learn stand, then learn fly. Nature's rules biker-sans. Not mine...

I never see this problem in this thread.

All i read abt is FI lights up after washing bike and the throttle position sensor going bonkers.

They usually give a 10% discount at time of purchase. Just ask them when you wanna buy. It all comes painted so they may not have your color in stock.

Adjusting the ride height will change the way the bike handles on the track. Only do that if you know the consequence else you may get caught pants down during track days...

During the Australian Sportsbike Mag 2005 Master Bike shootout, the suspension technician raised the ride height by only 3mm to get a sharper steering. But the effect was immediately noticed by most riders. It resulted in a much sharper steering but also caused the bike to tankslap easier. One of the test rider fell off when he hit the ripple strips which caused a headshake.

But if you don't go down to the track, I suppose it's ok.

It is just a normal fault. On the US ZX10R web, only 4% (6) out of a total of 139 who voted experienced failures. I'm sure you've read that, hence the basis of your posting. The reason of your posting, I'm not sure..

No offense but if you had posted this with the likes of frame cracking on the US forum, you would've been fried. There're people going around trying to devalue or give a particular marque a bad name by posting threads like yours... Hope you're not one of them :)

One final point is that if you go read the US forums, every brand of bike will have their own issues, not just Kawasaki. Yes, even Honda for their well known quality. My ex bike was a Honda. And the low fuel indicator LED failed and can only be fixed by replacing the entire dash! And how often does a LED fail?? I found out by running out of gas on the road :(

Hope you get my point...

US has some 04/05 10r with this prob. what do you mean by normal fault? meaning manufacturing fault? or rider's fault? pls enlighten. just wanna find out whether our local kawa has this too. talking bout frame cracking, lots mentioned suzuki's frames cracking issue. act of war or is this true?

of course nothing is perfect in this world, my posts are merely to widen my knowledge. hope you know where i came from too.

:btw: i'm a die-hard kawi lover. no way, i'm devalue-ing my greenish.
