Have removed the honeycomb in the exhaust and also disabled the servo. Not much difference in exhaust note, but bike runs cooler.

Hello,

Has any of the ZX10R tried to remove the above mentioned stuff?

If yes how to do about removing it?

Thanks!

Remove the muffler and you will be able to see the honeycome.

You'll need a hole saw and a long screw driver.

Read in some previous post that Seng Kwang does it.

Hello,

What's the purpose of the servo and honeycomb?

By disabling and taking them out, does it have any adverse effect on the everyday running of the ZX10R?

Thanks!

By removing the exhaust servo the bike temp might not rise so high so fast, but i think u need to re-tune ur air/fuel ratio....

By removing the honeycomb.... LOUDER pipe? less restriction on the end-can?

 just my $0.000002 worth.... hope someone can clear our doubts...

I do not have that problem as I dun water hose my bike.

Normally I will wipe down with my bike with a wet cloth and then proceed to wax it.

i think as a general guideline for washing bikes... do not hose down.

water & electronics dun mix... neither is water & electrical wirings....

right Storm?

The honeycomb is there to meet emission controls standard set by various governing bodies. In other words to get it approved for road use.

As for the servo, I don't really know.

Had mine disabled, and now have hooked it back on.

Didn't realise any difference in riding.

As for the honeycomb removal, the bike does runs cooler.

You can grip the tank/frame without getting the burning sensation.

Had this problem before.

Now I cover the ignition switch when I wash my bike.

Hello,

So in other words, I need to put the honeycomb back before I send my ZX10R for inspection?

Btw how do u feel about the maintenance of the ZX10R compared to the other Japanese 1 L class sportbikes? Is it more expensive than the rest?

Thanks and regards.

can anybody tell where this honeycomb situated in my 10r,,i really don't know...  in fact i don't know how it looks like...:giddy: :giddy:

Once you take out your end can, look inside and you will see the cataylic converter...which looks like a .........honeycomb. The dust from the cataylic converter when you are tearing it up is harzardous.
