The timing for our bike turn on the fan is depend on wat kind of cooler you r using, some will turn on early to avoid over-hit happen and some will turn on when it really hot... For me, I prefer my bike turn e fan on early so that it will cool down e bike before it really get hot...

 

Any recommendation for what coolant is good as well along side with engine oil?

halo guys me just came back.. the trip was great man was very nic... meet some mis hap on the way back.. kept my friend and his wife in a mist for a moment but managed to keep his spirit up thou...

 

but his wife still in maze...

 

by the way.. eugene got mine from sporting motor and price for carbon is 1200.. w/o inspection abt 50..

 

power if u had the silencer on u might not feel it but for a week when me when koh samui had it off can feel coz loud pipe really saVE LIFE.. and it proven...

 

i dont know abt remus pipe.. but remus pipe be prepare to pay at least 1900 the price do turn me off..

Huh, I tot the signal for the fan to come on is by a temperature sensor? How can it differentiate the type of coolant you are using and decides to come on earlier?

 

A more efficient coolant probably is able to prevent your temp from hitting 3 bar that easily. But once it is about to hit 4 bar, the fan will come on, no matter what coolant you are using.

 

(thats for 02 model, 03 onwards I dunno when the fan will come on, should be the same)

hi bro, thks for the info. your carbon exhaust so cheap meh? i was quoted $1486 for the carbon exhaust without installation and inspection. can i have the tel and address of sporting motor? do you have friends tat wan to sell their aftermarket exhaust? mine is a 06 model fjr. thks!

You talking about the outer fairing? Mine drop before. Lucky not during riding... I use a super strong glue to glue it back.

 

If you want HB box, ask ashenz, aka BG. He using that. I think its $1200. Original more ex.

Marcus installed a switch to cut of the fan, at the control circuit side. If u wanna install a switch to on the fan manually, its more direct to do it at the power supply side. Probably short the two sides of the fan relay switch should do the trick. But i dont think anyone has done it on their FJR here.

 

Some cons. What if you forget to switch it off. It drains power from your batt. Less efficient. And your fan life might be shorten.

In my opinion it is not safe to install a "Cut in" switch for the fan, if you must have one, I think it might be better to alter the thermostat to cut in & out at a lower temperature or add a timer relay to the "Cut in" switch if you install one just in case you forgot to turn it off while riding.

 

I install a "Cut out" switch to my fan just in case my battery runs weak and I will still be able to crank my engine to start it .

This type of situation happens to me a few time before, when my radiator fan is running, I find it very difficult to crank start my engine. (towards the end of the battery life span)

But when the radiator fan is not running, my engine crank start very easily.

bro yours is which modal??? mine last time had the same thing happening.. just get a good glue(araldite the brand name) and just pour it in.. it super strong..
