[Discussions] 50cc Bikes in Singapore

Hi,

 

I am planning to get my licence soon, was wondering if 50cc bikes are allowed in Singapore? Can they be registered?

 

I only travel to nearby places, do not intend to go very far. So I am thinking of getting something really small and cute looking.

Not sure but don't think Singapore allows new 50cc bikes in anymore. However...you can still lay your hands on some C50/C70/C90 Honda cubs and Piaggio Sferra80cc auto scoots with some determination and luck

However, do take note that these bikes are easily >15 years old and might need lots of repair and restoration costs. Alternatively, you can get a 125 Skipper auto scoot at abt $500+- for point A-B commuting lah...

if you have more money to spare for a bike... can look at newer Honda waves or other 2B scooters as well...

Or if you like vespas and am willing to spend time and money owning & taking care of one (cos old vespas can make your hands dirty easily)..can try to get one but remember they are using drum brakes (skidding problems) and need to change gears by your left hand by twisting the handle (many cannot get used to it)..
