I'm officially an ex-owner now :)

Saw the meeting announcement too late. Another time.

Jagan: Define your buzzing sound? It's common (told by my mech) that ventilated disc, at least with EBC, makes a "woooonnnnnn" sound, heard only when going very slowly or about to stop. If it's wooonnn wooonnn wooonnn, then your rotors are probably warped. I had that on my Fazer but not on other bikes using EBC.

No Vin, it sounds like buzzing, Zzzzzzz (really!)

Only at speeds higher than 60km/h when I start to pull the lever. After the initial bite, the sound disappears. Will check it out with mech.

Didn't have this with my other bikes and EBCs.

Time to clean your calipers you lazy bum :)

I'm stumped, sorry can't help you.

Hah hah, I have tried cleaning it. I guess the sound is one additional feedback to let me know the brakes are kicking in!

Hi guys, I'm currently deciding between getting a new z1000 or z1000s but still can't makeup my mind between the 2, both are so fabulous, any advice?

Did abit of research on the kawa bikes, called up Everygreen, was told to contact Excel cycles and M1 Motoring, (their distributor) which quoted me 29k for SX otr, but have to wait end of may for stocks.

Are there any other shops I should get the bikes from besides these 2? Any comments on loois motor?

My initial dream bike was cbr1000rr, but after I saw the kawasaki naked bikes, immediately fell in love with it :DDD

Too bad SX only comes with green & black, personally I prefer the color scheme of the 2010 Z1000, but can't find it anywhere now.

Very much hope to join you guyz in meetup soon.. :)

its all about preference. loois is fine, cant go wrong with a kawa. built like a tank.

Last I heard Loois selling Z1000 26-27k depending on age. SX prob 31k.

Ridiculous price for a Jap bike.

Did the vacumm syn last week myself, now bike is smoother. Clean the injector with Redline fuel injector cleaner, was amazed the bottle can treat 21 times for for 18litre fuel tank. Going to clean the K&N filter this weekend.

vacuum syn procedure is here

http://www.kawiforums.com/how-tos-faqs/156754-how-engine-vacuum-sync.html

Document the procedure here for future reference, the procedure in the manual is not fully correct.

1. Clean the bypass valve of any carbon (remove the bypass screw and spray with carb cleaner in the hole) before proceeding with the throttle bodies syn.

2. After cleaning turned in the bypass screw all the way in for max vacuum reading (cw vacuum reading increase)

3. Syn cyl 1 and 2 by adj the bypass screw of the cyl to match the lower reading. i.e Cyl 1: 220mm Cyl 2: 230mm, adj cyl 2 bypass screw ccw, such that cyl 2 match cyl 1 reading.

4. Do the same for cyl 3 and 4

5. Adj the center screw to match cyl 1&2 to cyl 3&4 i.e Cyl 1&2: 220mm, Cyl 3&4: 240mm (CW: Cyl 3&4 vacuum reading will increase while Cyl 1&2 will decrease)

6.Check the idle speed is at 1100rpm and blip the throttle after each adj to verify. Syn is completed when all the cyl have the same vac reading at idle and all cyl vac reading should rise simultaneously to the same level when blip the throttle.
