Hey guys, i have waited for about 1.5 yrs for my claim and up til date, there is no news. izzit normal to wait this long for a claim? and lastly, izzit true that after 3 yrs of waiting the case will be dismissed?

Are u making a third party claim as in u tink that u are not at fault so u are claiming against the other party?

 

3 years is a waiting period for any third party claims to arise from any traffic accident. If any party does not makes any claims within 3 years from the date of accident, the insurance company will close the case for any claim issues by any third parties. However this is very subjective as the case may be opened up if any claims arises after 3 years bt insurance company do have the right to repudiate any claims after 3 years as it is past the legal 3 years of liability.

 

Since u have already reported the accident and that u are claiming the third party for all your losses, you are not affected by the 3 years liability period. The insurance company will have to indemify all yr losses if investigations shows that their insured is at fault thus resulting in the accident. You have the right to call the insurance company which u are claiming from to request for any updates of yr claims.

 

If you are 100% sure that you are totally not at fault in the whole accident, (mayb investigations from TP dept already reflects that they have give the other party demerit points) you shd just go to a lawyer and go thru legal means to claim for all yr losses incurred due to the accident.

what kind of claim are you making? against your own insurance? against another motorist's insurance? for what incident?

I was knocked down by a taxi 1.5 yrs ago and there is this motodiam which is doing the claim for me. Apparently, the taxi is also claiming against me. So I really have no idea when this case will come to an end. I havent heard from the motodiam since all the documents have been passed to them.

eh, how you know the taxi driver is also claiming against you?? they will mail you one letter ar?

coz on thursday i also hit a comfort taxi, i was goin striaght he was coming out from a carpark and he wanted to turn right and i hit his passenger door...

how are my chances of claiming from his insurance ?

btw i can claim full amount right?

what are you claiming? injury? damage? both?

you haven't heard about your case? are you sure it's been lodged against the other party instead of sitting around somewhere?

have you reported to your insurer? ask them for the situation.

have you notified the other party's insurer that you're claiming against it? ask them for the update.

 

letting someone else handle your case without keeping you informed, or taking an active interest in it... amazes me.

I received a letter from the taxi company, saying that they wanted to pay me 2k or so, and i forwarded the letter to the motodiam. Then the next thing I received was a letter from some insurance company claiming against me, which i have also forwarded to the motodiam.

 

So i dunnoe what is what now.

then get your act together and start knowing what's going on.

ask your insurer what's going on, since someone is already claiming against you. they can give you an update on the claim against you.

 

find out who are the lawyers representing you. speak to them fast to figure out what's going on.
