Yesterday at cantonment, I stop at the left lane just b4 the stop line of the traffic lights. I keep close to the kerb den I off my engine n sat on my bike browsin thru the rd direct. to find a place....

Den got 2 tp came up to me n ask me " wad u doin here?"

I said "sir, I'm lost"

den he replied " wheres ur headlight? tail light? left signal light? "

den he asked me stop infront aft the traffic lights.

Upon stoppin aft the junction, He open his metal box at the back of his bike, I was tinkin "Finished le..."

End up, both took out rd directories n try to locate the place for me!

Patientli explained to me n aft that told me " bro, u just turn her turn there blablabla"

So I said " thank you sirs" n was thinkin, wad a good day I had to hav 2 TPs (not rov)

to help me even I have a white base sticker front no. plate. Hmm. :cheer:

I LOVE my R1!!!:shades:

Heard that FN Plate No restricter and powercut right ?

The most disgusting thing happened to my bike yesterday. After work yesterday, I went to take out the bike cover and start my bike. To my horror, there were a horde of ants crawling ard the floor where my bike was. Not thinking much out it i just rode my bike off.

When i parked somewhere in orchard after dat, i realized that the ants were still there!! So I took my cloth to try to beat them away. Somehow they kept coming, but from where? I keep seeing ants popping out from the swing arm. So I gave up.

Sometime later, i went back home. Being curious, i took a peek at my swing arm again. Boy i was shocked! The ants were still there!

Feeling frustrated, i took a bottle of water to spray at them and try to get rid of them, but to no avail. So i took a bottle of Mortein and sprayed at them. I even took out my fairings to make sure they were not hiding anywhere else. Finally no ants were seen moving ard.

Can you just imagine that half a colony of ants make home in my swingarm?? There were even loads of ants' eggs that were carried ard by those bloody ants!! After flushing the ants, i could see the whiteish eggs all over the floor together with the ants.... disgusting....makes my hair stand just thinking of those eggs....

Personally, i would rather go for a newer bike than to look for an FN plate. So what if its restriction is not as much as the newer bikes?

Gain a few horsepowers not worth it for a bike that old.

And as for powercut, it can be easily removed. But honestly, how often do you go over 180kph? the speedo oso onli until 180.

jungleboy, actually u r lucky to get martini's bike cos everything properly done when u got it.

but if is not properly done when u got it, got to spend a bomb man.

so i was thinking that maybe get a cheaper rvf then do it up n it can still perform like a newer bike.

but of course a newer bike is of course the best choice but when money is involve, it still better to plan.

but if u got the extra money, get a newer rvf, why not? :thumb:

well.....both of them are right. personally, there is nothing wrong with getting a older bike oso if u can find one that is well taken care of and still in prime condition. you'll be surprise some FS or Ft platers are in worst conditions then some FQ platers. so in comparision if u were to have 2 bikes, one yr prefered FN plater been very well taken care of, prime condition and another FT or later plater in quite a sorry state , which would you choose?

no doubt the engine newer and all but if the FN plater has all the necessary thiings done up nicely oredy, i would go for the FN. machine price cheaper too!

:thumb:

ok...round the bush and back to your question, poor guy.

FN platers are rumoured to be without speed restriction.

if that FN rvf is still in its original fairings and colors, the side decal "RVF" would be white in color. those are the batches that dunno what is 180KPH restriction...hehe

yoz...welcome!

what do u mean by "easy to maintain"? if you are planning to DIY most maintenance of the bike yourself, by gosh its definitely NOT easy! Changing the spark plugs is a killer becoz of its V-config. other than that..the rest of the maintenance procedures are pretty standard..i.e air filter replacement, oil filter replacement, oil changing.....

Jungleboy and USmonkey does all these basic maintenance themselves. perhaps they can provide you with a more in-dept description about their difficulties.

as for pricing of filters, plugs and all, pls refer just a page or two back. someone recently posted the prices. in fact...scroll thru these pages if you are free to learn more abt this bike before u make ur purchase. i posted a BuYing Guide for newbies. iz somewhere in this rvf thread...hehehe......have to look for it la..forgot what page liao.

:goodluck:

thanx, hi actuali i meant by easy maintain is actuali i wanted to know any difficulties on the bike? issit difficult to maintain? wat's the expenses for the maintainance? which part should i aware of? so b4 i take the bike i must aware. scared later dunnoe change there change here waste money liaoz
