Hi Guys,

Lets see I might want to restore an old LC/RD 125cc from the 80’s. But…..with our own local taste. It can’t be denied during the early 90’s there was once the now extinct species call “Ah Bengs on LC’S/ RD’s 125cc’s”. I’m sure some old timers cannot deny that these now extinct riders that used to terrorize orchard to peninsula had some good looking bikes!

1989 I was just only taking my 2b and I remember a lot of LC’s and RD’s . The Ah bengs would be on Cut away fuel tanks, and full chrome engines. You don’t see them ride very far away from fuel stations obviously as the fuel tank capacity is very low. “ “Shit Man“ those Italian’s didn’t know our local bengs from the late 80’s already know about lightening even before carbon fiber was invented.

What would fill the streets during that time were tzr’s, rgbaby, rxk’s and mbx’s . It’s the same time with SIDI or Shoei Monkey face helmets and you wear it like you have r0de so fast that the wind had blew your nose up and your chin is pointing upwards. Rule of thumb keep the front lid as close to your nose as possible. Fun times bad times that was the past. Yes you gen y and gen z riders. Those days these bikes has the hottest chicks as pillions bro!!!

Alrite enough of history. Anyone have old pics I can try to use as a reference for these bikes?

Or better yet any of you know which workshop I can talk with for the mods to be done on a stock bike?.

Please add your inputs.

All that I can remember are

The handlebars lowered and positioned awkwardly uncomfortable – why this way?

Fuel tanks cut in half – know any workshop that really knows how its done?

Airbrushed fireball/dragon/tao sa pao/ doremon on fuel tank. – these days sticker is cheap hehehe

Chrome engine and all metal parts possible – no wonder autosol become so rich.

Was there any tyres styling?. Front/back slim tyres?

oh yes Round Headlights like the SDR200 look

Would appreciate if some old pics form the glory days are shared here.

Btw my rd is in jb thus no local issues or restrictions. Huat Ar!!!

Thank guys…

You forgot about the all-important jacked up rear scorpion tail!

Also be sure to wrap the brake hoses with something resembling those shiny bathroom hoses.
