My friend who booked the ADtre 200 from WY 1 week after I booked mine from NW.

He collected the bike last week and WY refused to honour the booking price of 9500 (M/C price).

My friend finally paid 13.6k (much higher then Mah's revised price of 13.2k).

He vowed never go back to them again..:(

So everyone just be careful when booking your bike, make sure the dealers spell the price properly on the agreement.

precisely what i mean when i say total un-professionalism.....if these dealers are allowed to get away with it, they will just do it again and again and see who they can rip off....hang on to them like rottweilers and drag them through the whole mud and legal thing ....eventually you will be doing the whole community a big favour.....

Andre goto Kymco dealer MOTORSPORTS and ask. AD3 and Downtown is identical engine. the mainstand is part of the engine so should be same part.

Just bought a round rubber stopper for door and installed to the main stand. So no need to bother those idiot at Mah.

After more then a week with ADtre, just like to share some of my amateur experience of the scooter.

I have not much experience on scooters, this is only my 3rd one. (1st AD150, rode for about 3 years, 2nd AD200, rode for about 6 months)

1) Build,

The build quality as expected, similar to AD200; lot of plastic, flimsy roof panel, uneven gaps between joints, trunk box and glove compartment, rusty metal parts and screws; yes, even brand new bike from factory. I spotted rust at mirror support, side & main stand, panel screws. I applied a lot of rust converter for my previous AD150 & AD200, therefore, will expect to use a lot rust converter on this bike too later.

Other defects; missing main stand rubber stopper, air vent lourver blade linkage missing, loose mirror, loose trunk box locking hook, loose exhaust cover bolts, even loose front wheels lock nuts.

2) Ride

Turn on ignition, took a few cranks before the engine fired up. Very quiet engine compare to previous ADs.

Bring the bike down from main stand is painful, in my opinion, the main stand is poorly design; it is too short, bring down the bike from main stand is not easy even I'm very experience with heavy bike. (I'd sprained my back few days ago, ouch.). The bike weight 215 kg according to the vehicle register.

On the move, (have not try hard acceleration yet, will try it after the engine run-in :) ) but judging from pulling away from traffic light and leave other smaller bikes/cars behind, I'm feel the power is adequate for this 300cc engine.

(Briefly tested the 200cc in carpark, found the power is not that bad. May be will test it on highway one day to compare.)

The front suspension is firm and the ride is stiff and bumpy as compare to Piaggio MP3. Be-careful when ride on bumpy road, the roof shelter dislodge from the windshield once I landed hard over a hump. The latches of the roof only hold the roof horizontally but not vertically.

The seat cushion is much more comfortable compare to AD200. But the short foot rest is a little uncomfortable. The sitting position is upright but not uncomfortable. But at this sitting position, the signal, high beam indicators are blocked by the handle bar, need to lean forward to check the indicator lights. On highway, I'll sit back to the edge of driver seat so that I can stretch my legs. Overall, the ride comfort is acceptable to me. Turning radius is wide, need 2 lanes space to make a U-turn (same as car, lol.).

The engine is quiet and I had ran up to 100km/h without realizing it in a few occasions. Not much noise and vibration at this speed and the bike still quite stable. For AD200, the vibration will be felt when the speed is above 90km/h.

The ride is much more windy compare to AD150 & AD200. The wind will hit on the lower leg and raise to your body. Your won't feel as hot as compare to previous AD (but ride in the rain is another story. :( ).

In slow ride, the legs can feel the engine heat, probably is the hot air from the lower vent behind the radiator fan. The radiator temperature always hovering near 100 deg C, something always worry me. The cooling fan only cut in when the gauge shows the temperature above 100 deg C.

Agility is as good as AD200, not much problem in lane splitting as I rides during peak hours daily. Just be careful when passing commercial vehicles as the side mirrors almost at the same height.

3) Riding in the rain

Main improvement is on the windshield; the side deflector is built-in. No more problem like AD150 & AD200 that water drip from the gaps between side deflector and windshield to the hands.

ADtre maintain the same weather protection for upper body as AD200 but minimum for lower legs. As mentioned before, the wind will enter from the lower leg. So while riding in the rain, the cold wind along with rain water will hit your legs below the knees. The short front wheel fenders does not stop the water hitting the front fairing and water will splash to the feet and lower leg. The pillion is worst, even the thighs area will be wet too. This is my major disappointment of Adtre.

4) Fuel consumption

1st refill at 243km. 10 liter to the brim (almost can not close the cap, lol).

In my AD150, the roof had a gutter at both sides to channel water from the roof to a drain point at the windscreen pillar. However I noticed the AD3 has lack of it which result it water dripping off the sides and onto my arms and legs, not sure if the AD200 already scrap the gutter design? Anyway I think ultimately need to fabricate side covers to make this bike the perfect rain commuter on three wheels.

AD 150 roof made of fibre, it is wider, solid and heavy. It provide better rain protection. AD200 & AD3 share the same identical roof.

Bro why not you go down take a look and evaluate yourself? Even though I decided to buy the bike I still went to look at it on three different occasions before signing the paper.

Today I got fun facts about this bike to share you with guys.

1. The hazard light will remain on after you turn off the ignition. But it cannot be activated without turning on ignition first.

2. If the radiator fan turns on, it will remain on for few secs after ignition is turned off.

Silicone wiper that I bought from autobacs ubi. This will greatly reduce the damage on the windscreen from wear and tear. It will even leave a layer of silicone to promote water beading.

I brought the wiper to the store and the uncle helped me to change the refill.

hey ben,

i am actually relying on the feedback and comments, and complaints to help me decide whether to buy or not.

i honestly know nothing about scooters with a roof, but given the feedback so far, it is discouraging, from the rip off dealers to loose bolts and nuts to having to do so much mod to prevent water splashing etc......i feel like giving up.......

i will go down and see 1 final time, at mah, since they seem to be all the same and decide, by gut feeling......

anyway it is really generous for you guys to care enough to share......cheers!

Bro I see where you are coming from now, I can only describe to you overall this bike is lacking so slightly in many areas, which if you are willing to rectify, could be almost the perfect all rounder bike.

It's like a 9/10 in many aspects if you touch up it will be 10/10. Not like it has major flaw(s) which make it 4/10 and too much effort or impossible to improve.

There is always pros and cons, the loose bolt and nuts can be tighten and locktite. Water splashing is because of two wheels in front not the same as AD200 but the upside is the stability of the bike, the extra wheel gives you much more confidence riding in the wet, bumpy road and less then ideal conditions. All this kind of thing you must try first hand to understand because description by words can be quite vague.

For the price you pay, actually this bike is consider very rich in feature already. I know me and Andre till date only mention mostly about the problems but not the good stuff. Because it is easy to point out the few flaws but hard to single out it's plenty of good attributes.

Fret not my friend, this is a bike that was well worth the long wait. Thank you for appreciating our sharing!

These features same as AD200. Just make sure to wait till the fan stop before you leave. Once my previous AD200's fan kept running without stopping cos the thermal switch faulty. I modified the fan switch to control the radiator fan manually until replaced the thermal switch.

Don't think you'd lost the stopper. I believed they never install it at the first place. Must go back to them to ask for one.

Is it same as Kymco Downtown? I'll drop by to Motorsports to get one.

Look! My bike has blue undercarriage LED from factory! This one TP cannot catch one! :cheeky:

*(Anyone want to guess what is it?)

The only factory blue bulb I can think off is the hi-beam indicator light. It dropped out?o_O

I have made a list of all the "defects" indicated so far and if i go to do collection, mininum have to spend 2 hours just checking and fastening before i will sign over scooter......things like this should not happen........

As for the TTS, thanks for offer guys, but i have to do a bit of travelling starting this month and after that rest 1 week then travel again....sigh, so timing is important, really wish i can go meet up you guys.......but i will try.....Thanks again.

EO - 1.3L

Gear oil - 180cc

Changed all oils to synthetic, marked improvement in perceived smoothness. Less vibration and the rear wheel feels less draggy.

The fan only kick in when the temperature gauge shown slight above 100 deg C ( about 105).

Then it took century to cut off at about 90 deg C.
