When it comes to IU... It's their call la I think. They put the device on the bike, the thing spoil means blame the rider... Sien.. And last week my mech told me if your IU is on a non standard IU holder and it's damaged even though under warranty, it will not be covered as they will blame the owner for changing the bracket.

As for the Supercars, the noise test is only for what is called a Drive-by noise test. Meaning, not at idle and not at full throttle. It's at slightly open throttle. So far Supercars, if u get to peep below you'll see a bypass valve. That is programmed only to be closed by vacuum at around 1500-3000 rpm thereabouts to pass the drive by noise test.

Or else, an idling lambo will blow the crap out of the mic. Pay attention to how they sound at the red lights next time.

Lol, no one drives at idle. Bikes have butterfly valves and even with that they some of them can't be homologated.

The whole point of that was for those who think that Supercars are loud and since they can be used on the road why can't bikes with straight through pipes..

Why can't bike with butterfly valves cannot be homologated? The valves are there from the manufacturer..?

LTA will allow to pass most homologation tests so long as equipments are factory fitted and certified safe for riding/ driving on our roads.

So, all those loud exhausts and what not, as far as possible, just check with LTA if the things you wanna install or modify on your vehicle has been approved or not. The list is constantly being updated.

maybe super cars road tax already more then an avr bike.

haven include coe, insurance , and the car amount

maybe if bikes coe is 50k , road tax 3k

insurance 6k

and machine price 30k

then the pipes are allowed and will be known as superbikes.

True enough. Peculiar thing is something that had already been approved and legal will be illegal few years down the road.

Not that simple, try PI bikes, it will take some time.

About 3-4 months to pass the homologation tests.

I have read that some people actually import their dream bikes themselves, including settling paperworks with LTA!! These people really know how to save precious money instead of dealer/ shops pocketing profits, passing costs down directly to buyers!

That's because they don't have the information LTA requires on hand. If all available, time from submission to vehicle inspection to pass type approval is within a week.
