Hi all,

My dad's bike 2 years ago kena accident, since then, bike always park at my carpark never ride anymore, after repair.

Now, his insurance, road tax and inspection coming, 9 oct 2013.

But now the bike condition cannot pass and is not in riding condition

Now my question is, can my dad and i go down to LTA and lay the bike up, then no need go the inspection and renew road tax and renew the insurance?

Cos now still doing the claim from the accident (super long)

After the claim, we are gonna scrap the bike.

I need some clarification on this.

Appreciate it

If the bike is layup, dont need to have road tax and insurance bah.

To ride on the road, You need skills,Stamina, or even luck.

But to be a good rider, you have to change with your environment, and adjust yourself to its rhythm.

Cultivate the confidence to face the different situations. Don't let yourself to be subdued by the environment :thumb:

Once you lay up, no need to renew insurance & road tax.

Good luck to the claims

Why not scrap the bike now? Saves you all the hassle of scraping it later.

road_[/MENTION]duke;8048658]u cant scrap a bike if got case lei

I didn't know that. Always thought that once the surveyor has gone through your vehicle, it's up to you to do whatever you want with the vehicle.

My logic is that if I don't need it anymore, why do I want to keep it at my cost. Unless, I can claim it from the other party.

If a claim is going to take years, I don't see myself keeping the bike for years especially if it's no longer a safe ride or economical to fix.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

My fren claim from a taxi took close to 1 1/2years before he got his claim, but Not sure abt how long he waited before the case is confirmed and close. Maybe you wanna Call up and check with your insurance company ? 12mth of season parking is $180.

my dad case is 1yr 10months already

still waiting for updates from lawyer

sighhhh

The lawyers will take ages to respond. A typical case will go for at least a minimum of 2 years before you see get to see any claims.

U can actually get the bike done up first and claim later.

bike already done up after the accident. i did sent for inspection, road tax and renew my dad insurance for last year.

i took out the battery connection after that, actually now can ride but i dont feel safe on the bike, let alone sell to other ppl. unless they want to go fix the bike up themselves if i were to sell the bike after we get the claim.

it's not a serious accident anyway.

really unlucky

your right.

last time i always ride it around my area to charge the battery but it always stall when traffic turns red.

and guess what, cannot start up anymore, need push start and all to get it running again, after which i just ride back and park there ever since.

happened too many times i lost count.

that being said, it's also the reason i wanna scrap after claim, i scare to sell it to other ppl.
