This is wat i feel n hopefully i dun offened you in anyway...

 

How experience a specialist is , no matter wat he can only set the preload for ur weight but the damping n compression, he can only set a guide line for u. As for the fine tunning u to suit ur own riding style n liking u still need to do yourself.. So is better for us to understand n fine tune it. To tune up ur suspension can take days , mths or even a yr to make the best out of ur suspension.... The better ur set up = the more comfortable when u ride = u can ride faster yet in ur comfortable zone...

Do they take your bike to the track and set it up...or they just set it up according to your weight?

Sus setting is a black art itself...The only thing person who can set up is the one that followed you to track or roads that you often attack before you can give your feedback and set it up....Or better still yourself...Only you can feel your bike and set it to your liking according to your comfort level.

 

If just set up by weight..I am sure Tec and I can set it up too..I collect $20 enough liao if friend friend just kopi can already...mind you deteration of oil in the shocks can change damping characteristic as well....

 

There are too much variable to set by so called specialist that only set the bike without feeling the bike...And even they can feel the bike...their weight might be diff from you as well....??

 

The basic...correct spring rate to your weight first that can offer the sags you needed...From there get a basic damping setting and read more,feel more and learn more....

 

I myself are still learning about the damping...Too much or too little that will casues what effects..sometimes you dont even feel cause you dont push it to the limit....And road rider and track rider have diff requirement as well....

 

i know you are working for them, the brand you are promoting is really good...If I tio toto I will get front and back...

 

No offense...I am sure you have your fair share of feedback from R1 kakis...Put it this way...sportbikes and the bike you are riding now are really 2 diff animals....The >100bhp bikes can really bite if you are not careful....

 

I suggest get one and join us for track, get the experiences and I am sure you can venture further if you know more about them.....Cheers...

that's why recommended setting when the shock is new, or just after a full servicing.

correct. the tuner will get feedback from the rider to do the settings. the tuner will never feel the bike to make adjustment. the only thing that the tuner will feel is to feel the equal amount of rebound/compression on the front and rear.

yes. if spring rate is wrong, nothing can be set up nicely. it can be done with a wrong spring rate, but it will never be close to the optimal setup.

yah.. that's why i'm not referring to my current slowpoke, it's just a transport/play bike.. current licence only allow me to have this small sheep. the effects of improper setup is always visible. tuner always set it to be the default or most suitable for the rider, and let the rider go ride around. when the rider comes back with feedback, then the tuner will start to fine tune the settings. the best tuner is determined by the rider. if the rider can't give exact feedbacks, the tuner can only do that much to help the rider. agree?

Tec for your info...Trust the expert not the lao jiao....Sorry cos I got engineering back ground so I trusted facts,results and numbers....Donestn mean nothing happened to them...that mean they are right...Science is a wonderful thing and I believe those engineers rather than some lao jiao....Throw facts onto my face I will shut up....Simple as that...

Next thursday sell my bike and friday try to transfer the next bike and saturday go malaka....

I have taken leave on sunday so just give a bed I am good to go if I have bike....

Just this part abt pushing hard scare fall down.... Hmm when ur bike set up getting closer to wat u wan, u can actually ride faster coz the bike feels good n comfortable so u dun actually need to push....
