ppl say RL got no power-cut .. sure bo?back in mid 90s .. i own 91 make RL plate no FJ7479H oso got limiter ley. had to do some mod to disabled it then can go above 14500rpm. L and N are similar. the main diffirence between dz two an R are their carbs,main jet,exhaust header/endcan,fork .. etc.

im riding 98`RR Model. have a number of frens riding L,N,R model.. all equally strong^^ e power is there if basic maintanance is done. have to slowly rebuilt everything if wear n tear found + a little interest for tis bike to start everything going.

as for fuel consumption wise, i feel CBR milage can go quite high, regardless how old ur BIKE is unless working condition, normal setting for carb. FULL TANK can go 250-350 AT LEAST even with any aftermarket pipes.

 

As for my cbr, using street legal yoshi with hurricane header, full tank still able last me for 310KM ZHUN ZHUN.

 

As for e top speed, when first got my bike i feel like limit till 140km/hr very hard to accelerate, den my mechanic feels my clutch plate need change, after a brand new clutch plate, went to test at 2nd link with my gf as pillion & friends, i was very surprise it hits 200km/hr-*e meter after 180km/hr below got KM/HR is actually 200km/hr if u read e meter clearly but its not stated unless got powercut e speedo meter will continue moving till ''KM/HR'', by e way im riding R model. But if im not wrong, e words below KM/HR is ''NIPPON SEIKI" and after 200 n reach dat words, its 210km/hr. im not to here to talk big or jio race with ppl but to put a test on my bike to push e limits which i didnt done be4 oso to share my experience. i feel satisfied after doing so much rebuilt on it.

mine is a 1990 L model...no power cut...yes agreed must spend quite abit to do it up but i must say worth it... If u dun have that much in ur pocket just buy N or R model den go remove powercut...it's almost the same i think...

so seems ur L Model oso a 'Gem' now to u.. haha.. spend so much on touching up it, got feeling for it.. wan sell oso must twice twice.
