anyone went to Heng motors opposite kembangan mrt b4 ? any ratings ?

Date: May 2006 - Present

Shop Name: Heng Motor (Kembangan)

Address: 471 Changi Road 5 1/2 M.S (S)419889

Phone Number: 6747 8788

(got their namecard)

What service/product did you purchase? Purchased 2ndhand 2B bike (Hyosung Aquila) and regular servicing for more than a year. Also used their services to transfer my uncle's bike to my name in December 2007. Also towed my bike 3 times there.

Level of service: 9 (good sales staff, excellent mechs, office people also efficient and polite)

Level of knowledge: 10 (mechs are good with all sorts of 2A/2B bikes, seldom see class 2 at their shop though)

Level of value for money: 8 (not the cheapest in Singapore but worth it)

How happy are you overall? 9

What makes this shop commendable?

I bought my first bike from Heng Motor - a 2nd hand Hyosung Aquila. I had done my research on this bike since it is a very uncommon bike in SG. I was going for cruiser looks above all else and the Aquila is physically the biggest 2B bike available. I checked out just about every other shop in the whole of SG that carries Hyosung.

The bike was reasonably priced, with no hidden cost. Sales staff Xiao Quan(?) quoted me OTR price ($2k) and that was it. I asked for box and change this and that (small things) and all was done for me no argument. Paid everything upfront. Hyosung is a cheap bike, weak, generally below average but looks great. I knew what I was getting into because of my research. paperwork sui-sui, I just drop by a few days later to get the keys.

A few problems with my bike in the first couple of months were fixed for free (squeaky brakes, broken fuel gauge, etc). The head mech Ah Cheng is very good and very friendly.

I mostly go there for servicing or to fix stuff (kenna puncture 2X in 1 year - suay). Very very happy with service there. Too bad it's damn far from my house. Been wanting to go try their Toh Guan branch, but so far I like Ah Cheng too much.

Biggest gripe - my bike breaks down too often, but in a way, it's not the motortiam's fault. Aquila is prone to overheating, busted coil and rectifier problem. Ah Cheng knows this and has warned me about it. He also helped me change my stock rectifier to the Super4 rectifier because Hyosung parts are hard to get here.

Also when I got my 2A bike from my uncle, I had to take out of layup and transfer ownership. My uncle's shop said they are busy and will take until 2-3 weeks to transfer for me. Heng motor office lady say she can start now. She gave me a list of all the things I need and also made a detailed breakdown of costs. She kept me updated about the status of my bike (call me when they service for inspection, send to inspect, when the guy went to LTA to transfer, when everything ready, etc.) Got it all done in 3 days even with my uncle overseas. Excellent service.

Over the last year+ I have used services from other motordiams but haven't found as good (to me) as Heng motor. Of course, if you want cheap go LAB lor. LOL.

Below are just only my experiences with this particular motor tiam.

I just wanna to share with all bikers my experiences and i had no harmful or deconstructive intention to any one or to the motor tiam.

What service/product did you purchase?

Purchase / servicing of bike.

Level of service: before and after deal service varies.

Level of knowledge: Test them yourself and you will know the answer.

Level of value for money: ...

How happy are you overall? - read below and rate it yourself

What makes this shop commendable?

-Salesman are good at words. All talk but no action done.

-After sale services are down right lousy. No sale , NO TALK!

-Services is hoax.

-Must really be there personally at the spot when they service your bike,

to ensure you get what you had paid for.

-Mechanics with poor knowledge of bike problem but pretended to know.

As a result , they get you to repair stuffs that is unnecessary and which

did not remedy the faults at all. Normal servicing still alright.

-Mechanics are inefficient at work ,

ended up wasting customers precious time.

-Mechanics are dishonest. Fake services done to your bike.

-Safety aspects are not taken care.

All the above is just my personal experience, and I'd nothing or any grudge with them just pure sharing.

Beware my fellow bikers. Just be careful if you are already in biz with them.

Thanks for reading. Tk care.

Motorshop Name: I Motoring

Address: Alexander Village (Bukit Merah Lane)

Services done: Got myself a KIPS from that shop!

After service ratings: 9/10

Mechanic skills: 9/10

Price: 5/10

Customer Service: 8/10

Overall ratings: 8/10

Personal comments: None of the motorshop are 100% honest. Take the above motorshop for example, although I give good ratings but I also know that I kena chop by the price. One day say this price and the next day another price. However, after slow talk with them, we reached a compromised. They are actually OK type, can negotiate and do good service. The mechs are helpful but talks a lot of craps!! Hahaha..just listen cos they are managing ur bike top performance. After service is EXCELLENCE!! They gave me full syn engine oil top up and iradium spark plug for 3 times. Not all motor shop would want to give u all that offers.

Many of my friends has had bad experiences from them, including myself. I concur with you.

went to HL Cycle to view couple of bikes today, saw one SP FR plate, but i not too sure want to get it or not cos of the COE and the pricing also towards the high side.

but the guy, Robin is very patient, talk nicely and recommend a couple of other bikes as well, wanted to include new set of fairings but i decided against buying that SP.

in short, HL Cycle can go one, see the workshop also quite a number of bikes, got class 2b to 2 bikes there see them do things also quite alright i guess. thats just my humble opinion so dun flame me guys. thanks.

he may seem patient when u r looking ard for bikes, but things will change once u place deposit.. it didn't happen to me only but to few other friends' friends who got their bikes from him.. the workshop mayb good but not the way they deal with sales..

wat happened to me was: i was recommended by a personal friend to this shop n i was riding a wave at tat time n my 2A TP is coming soon. so Robin recommended to get a cbr400 L model, which he had a few in his shop, n he quoted me $3.6k. reasonable price n i agreed to it. he oso told me tat my wave trade-in price is $1.6k.

i placed a deposit n was quite happy but things started to change.. at tat time i was thinking of selling my wave on my own as i could get a higher price. but he called to say tat i have to push my bike to him at $1.2k which is so much lower than the market value. when i disagreed to tat, he threatened not to sell me the cbr400 n will forfeit my deposit. so wat can i do? i had no choice but to push the wave to him.

den few days later i went down to the shop to do some paperwork n he said the cbr400 machine price is $4k.. i feel damn cheated. it's like after paying the deposit.. i was pushed here n there like nobody's business..

next, i was supposed to take the bike on a Thursday, when my aunt is back frm overseas to pass me money for the bike. he called on Sunday n said to push the wave to him on Monday n i disagree as i need to travel around. once again he threatened me with the deposit n i really felt damn helpless..

tat night i made an overseas call to my aunt for help as i got no1 to turn to cuz i'm still quite new to the regulations n things.. she managed to negotiate for me.. so on Thursday i took the bike. he said he had done the bike nicely for me.. but i don't really trust him as frm the experiences frm my friends. i rode out n i told myself nv to see his face again.. immediately at the turn, felt tat the tyres were out of air as i couldn't negotiate the turns properly..

tat night.. pumped tyres n tried again.. still can't turn properly.. my friend checked n said tat the tyres were out of shape n there's a bump on my rear tyres mayb due to uneven wear.. so much for his words..

so few days later.. went to Planet to change tyres n to change brake pads.. discovered smth even worse.. the brake pads were long finished n were left with the metal.. OMG!! finally convinced myself tat he didn't even bother to check my bike n he can still dare to sell the bike. so ended up i changed EO, plugs, air filter, oil filter as well.. all these parts when taken out were in v lousy conditions n thus showing how long they were used on the bike.

lastly.. found out tat my bike is not even L model.. well.. i juz have to admit tat i was fooled big time..

so this is my experience w the shop.. if u r not convinced w it.. u can by all means try it urself.. i guess i'm not the first to post my bad experience w the shop n i believe many more pple out there didn't voice out too, like my friends' friends..

hua chin motor does good service for westside. i went there a few times to: put air filter and the other to fix new pads.

one of the young mech..i forgot the name..is good at cubs. he did my setting very nice and is also very patient.however..alot of ppl service their bikes there. so u gotta wait during peak hours.

Shop Name: Speedy Motor Cycle Service Centre

Address: Block 10 Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 2A #05-21

Phone Number: 64815567

What service/product did you purchase?

Changed engine oil, changed tyres, checked brakes, adjusted handlebar tightness, clutch tension.

Level of service: 9 (plesant mechanics, bike lovers)

Level of knowledge: 9 (seen many Phantoms and S4 in the workshop, few class 2, knows their stuff well)

Level of value for money: 9 (not really cheap, but really liked the experience)

How happy are you overall? 10

What makes this shop commendable?

Was quite fed-up with the previous workshop that I went(at Bukit Batok, bought my Phantom there btw), they don't really treat 2B bikes like customers, just do whatever you tell them without checking. Of course, they are well known around the East, even Harleys go there to service. Anyway, that'll be another post. So a colleague recommended me Speedy.

Now, these guys at Speedy, they are bike lovers, was really impressed the time when they changed my tyres. The guy removed my rear tyre, and said, "Hey, your tyre is really dirty (haven't washed it for 3 months liao), want me to clean for you?" I was stunned for a moment, and went, "uuh, yah, thanks!" was all I could manage. And he went on and cleaned my tyre, which looked just like new after that! (I would pay for that kinda cleaning service.) Then he intorduced the different models of tyres he has to me, the price, pros and cons, etc. Had been going there for service ever since.

out of the so many shops said.. i couldn decide which is the best few shops to get a second hand krr.. any1 can intro a few gd options wif their exact address? my fren interested in getting one very soon..

Here's something for consideration...

1) B*N H** - I bought my TA200 from them on year 2005 at about 2.6k. When I wanted to buy SWing, I asked them how much they willing to take in... $800 was the quote after letting the workshop boss look at it

2) Lo**'s Motor - I really like Mr Lee, he has got very good interpersonal skills and such, he quoted $600 to $800 max without looking at my bike... (I really would love to give him the business if not for his relatively high price in the new bike...)

3) B**e P*od**ti** - Quoted $1k if I buy from their shop. Lowest machine price with a bit of add-ons here and there... But still lowest price... Rumoured to have a bad service attitude. If you ask me, I think its just the "straight" and "no cut-corner" way they work... (Anyway, I got my SWing from them)

Few cents of thought~ :cheeky:
