Adding on to the highlights of the meetup, Adiva78 showed us the technique of jump starting the bike, which is a situation-life-saver skill for Phantom riders. To strongly emphasize how easy it can be done, he jumped start the bike by pushing it on an up-slope. We were all so impressed by his technique, and his strength.

Adiva78 also showed us how to check the engine oil level and a simple 13.5inch DIY metal pole that can help to lift up the rear wheel for chain-cleaning and oiling purpose.

Mattias76 showcased his "bling bling" bike and gave us tips on how to polish the engine cover. We also took moments to admire his mods (relocated pedal and IU, voltmeter, wind-screen, USB charger, aluminium(not stock black plastic) switches.

He also showed us,

- how to tune the suspension by using the tool

- how to check the chain for slack

- how to check the chain roller if it is worn out

- how to check the air filter and replace yourself easily

- why you should not fill more than 1 litre of engine oil into the phantom

So much topics were covered that we ended the session at 11.40pm.

There were a total of 6 of us who turned up for the session.

I must say it's a very fruitful session for Phantom newbies like me.

As most of our tanks were rather full, the petrol run was postphoned to some other time. Thanks to all for the good company and great session.

Exercise Banana cake - JB trip 13 Sep 2014 (Saturday)

Ok, Silent Hunter(SH) suggested yesterday evening that we go for an afternoon trip to JB for some food run today.

We manage to form a group of 4 but ended up with 3(Myself, SH and Calico) of us as A need to work OT coz her colleague last minute throw MC !

Anyway, we meet-up out-side the JB CIQ complex and all turned up punctually at 11am as planned.

Yes, as the name implied, one of the key activity for this run is to buy the famous Banana Cake.

The place is somewhere in the old JB town and hidden among the small alley.

There are lots of people queuing for it and we were told that we have to wait for 1 more hour for the Banana cake.

The boss suggest us to come back later in the afternoon about 3-4pm and we don't have to wait so long.

So off we went to err....Sukudai(C, name correct ?) where there is a street full of good food.

SH, the Coordinates are (1.522606, 103.664595)

We had this delicious fish ball noodles highly recommended by C .

This was followed by the fried Durian Fritters.

I tell you, the Durian Fritters is good stuff. I tried one and then decided to buy back 3 more for my family.

The lady boss said it can last 3-4 hours and still very nice.

(I ate one more 4 hrs later and indeed still very good)

Then we stopped nearby at a pet shop when we look at some exotic pets no commonly seen.

Hedgehog, sharks, and some cut looking giant squirrel thingy

Next, we go to a shopping centre nearby for some cheap groceries.

List of things we bought, Cheap 4T engine oil (RM12.5/litre) , Liquid Detergent, Softener, Potato Chips, bread ......)

Finally, off to the bakery for the Banana cake again.

This time, we just have to wait 10 mins and manage to buy what we want.

So what's so good about the Banana cake ?

Well, it's freshly baked with old style oven and firewood.

The time you buy it, there is still steam coming out.

The cake is very soft, very bananalish and aromatic and not too sweet, I must say one of the best I have tried so far.

All JB trips will not be complete without a petrol fill-up and of course we did it as the last activity. We crossed the Woodlands checkpoint at about 3.30pm.

Till the next time ....
