After paused for 5 months because of studies, I want to go continue with lesson 2. I'm afraid i'm too rusty to manage it, what can I do?

2-3 lessons minimum to get comfortable again, maybe 1-2 more to pass lesson 2 narrow plank.

i stopped for 1.5 mths at lesson 6, went for CR before booking L7, completely out of touch, figure 8 took me 15secs cause i didnt have the "feel" of the bike. took me 2 lessons to get the momentum again.

I stopped for a year at lesson 5 because i failed after 2 attempts and lost interest.Went back after a year and cleared in on my first try.

You're only at lesson 2.No difference imo.just book a lesson and go for it.

22 May 2014 - Passed TP (1st attempt)

28 May 2014 - Pulsar 200 NS (FBH2***Y)

Hi, CDC learner here but I'm thinking of changing school. Mind knowing if waiting time for lessons at SSDC are shorter than a week?

Depends on the "season". If its poly/uni break period, you'll have to book your preferred slots immediately after your lesson ends. And also what lesson you're booking.Lessons 1-4,Circuit Revisions are easier to book as compared to Lesson 5-7,Road Revisions.

I've heard people saying the SSDC is much more stricter then CDC/BBDC.Plus you'll need to share the 1st level circuit with Class3,4,5 learners. On the contrary, you wont be affected by the weather if you're using level 3 or level 1 circuit as they have shelter. So unless you live near SSDC,no reason to change.

waiting time per lesson is usually 2-4 days. you must be fast at booking, i use my phone + cc to book through my phone's web browser. straight after lesson, get your phone out and book, unless level 3 counter no queue then you can try booking there.

Hi guys, any tips and advises on slalom? I cant clear it under 6s.

Do you throttle and apply rear brake at the same time?

Do you grip the tank with your knees and use them to swing the bike?

Anything else?

Thanks!

I maintain throttle and tap the rear brake to slow down if I'm too fast.

Need to grip the tank with knees, I swing the bike with my hip and go with the flow according to my eye point which is 2 cones ahead.

eyes look far to where you want to go, firm grip with tights on tank, slide a little bum on left to right, left to right, throttle control and little bit rear brake to slow down if throttle too fast.

i wonder if anyone repeats Lesson 3 part II? LOL

Only those that "holland" and got caught... most of the time the instructors are quite ok if you mess up and know. after all CR is where you really practice all the skills. at half the cost :)

Anyone knows where I can find cheap riding boots? Shoelace got stuck at the gear mechanism today during lesson 7 and fell down at the traffic light. Immediate failure...

Anyone know how to choose the correct size helmet?should it be abit hard to put it on your head or just slide it in.the shop owner told me the cheek pad should hold your cheeks firmly.

Tight enough to turn with your head. Loose enough for you not to turn purple...

Usually when its new the padding are a little tighter. After wearing for about a week it will settle to a flatter state :)

If you're buying a "learning" helmet, (

When you get your "Riding" helmet when you pass... (>200 dollar type) then do some measurements to your forehead and check your head shape. Some helmets are more suitable for round head... some more for "egg" head... and some square head... Reason is when you are travelling FASTER than 50kmh... it really affect you when you turn your head at speeds >90kmh and if the helmet is loose... you may lose your vision because the helmet turned more than ur head... not funny.

Check it out at shops which allows u to try it on. Please don't buy from online if you have never tried it before... (Meaning buying based on looks alone...) High chance of regret :)

Booot...

Why not tie your shoelace and tuck it in instead?

If really want can try motoworld... saw some there.

A good pair of indoor soccer shoes are great for riding.

Actually, there were 2 in my group who were repeaters when I went for my Lesson 3 Part 2. Haha

Next lesson is my lesson 3 part 2, hopefully i don't have to repeat. I realised not many girls taking 2b now or is it the timing i choose? Feel very awkward whenever i go for lesson and it's all guys...

Just changed tyre. Jam brake when cornering

:dot: Why u Jam brake for during a corner?

Enter the corner too fast?

Take note that most new tires need some wear in time to have the full gripping effect. Go slow for the 1st 50-100km with new tires... unless u wanna sand paper them

Just remember your route. Its more important that making the timing for all the stations. 3B is checking on your route familiarity. After that you can do all the practise u want in the CR which is only half price :p

Don't worry about the guys... they are all more stressed than u. Why u ask? Cause if they fail and you pass that day, they will........

Just focus on doing the things right :) i'm sure the instructor will pay more attention to you. Unless you are very confident and there's another guy that's falling at every corner cause he's looking at u instead of the road. :lovestruck:

Thanks for the advice. Manage to pass on first try (thank god). I didn't have time for CR and the instructor kept stressing it's better to go for it so I book 1 CR just right before my lesson 4, which will be next week at 3pm and after that I will go for my lesson 4. Will it be too tiring?

Hello, new first post here. I am currently with BBDC, and the syllabus is really quite lengthy.

I believe SSDC is 1 to 8 too, but is it broken up like BBDC where you have stages in 1 chapter?

Can somebody detail the chapters / stages out for me?

Thank you!

2.01, 2.02

3.01, 3.02

4.01

5.01, 5.02

Hi, thanks.

I was wondering whether SSDC offers the book which tells you all the practicals (BBDC has that). Anybody can detail it till Chapter 8?
