Was stopped by ROV 12 yesterday in the morning along Upper Serangoon Road.

Wanted me to show him the papers from LTA stating that the full titanium Yoshimura trioval exhaust system was street legal for the DRZ.

Showed him the copy with the LTA stamp and the signature of the inspector who passed the exhaust. He said that was not enough and I should have the parts breakdown sheet too. Also said that I must carry the original copy and not a photostated copy.

Started to wayang and said that I could be fined $500 for not carrying all the original papers around. I told him that is what I was carrying but if he insist he can book me first and I will go home and get the original documents and go down to his HQ to clear my name.

Then he started calling his HQ on his walkie talkie giving them my bike number. When they told him that I was the registered owner and that my road tax was valid till Sep 06, did he then said that I could go. He then looked at my tyres and asked if I go track alot. When I said yes, he asked where. After that he said I don't look like the law breaker kind so I could go. Like thanks alot man.

Has anyone been checked by the authorities for having a LTA approved street legal aftermarket fitted? Is there any validity in the words of the ROV 12?? Or is he talking c0ck??

You can try this thread. I think everyone has a similar incident.

was going straight on a 2 lanes road, to my left abt 5m ahead was a filtering lane, i was travelling on the left lane, and here comes Mr Clown on his bike from my right... cut into my lane from the right and into the filter lane!.. totally never spare a though for other road users..

i m lucky i guess, meet Mr Clown in the petrol kiosk when i was pumping air and he was queuing behind me...

saw an idiot zipping fr lane to lane in the morn traffic and tailgating e car in front of him, obviously trying to push that car to give way to him. he's obviously over speed limit and traffic was light

damn wish there was a TP up front to nab him. we need less of these types of dickheads on the road

This morning went to work.

On the way saw a VFR ROV coming from behind me, I move aside and let him pass.

Shortly I ended up behind him waiting at traffic light junction.

Stay behind and admire his exhaust and engine sound.

Few seconds later, 2 x ROV came up behind me, and all waiting at traffic light.

Wow, getting crowded and hot. Traffic light turn green, all of them "escorted" me to my destination. :)

Nice to ride with fellow "white" Viffers for a while.

:cheer:

Hee, who knows we might even get to meet him at our usual kopi spot.

The kiddo who "bought" the wavey disc from me, yet to pay up man....met him at the mama shop near my carpark, he pretend he dunno me :sian:

Good riddance man....at least I know he will not ride up on his Wave to come talk rubbish with me everytime he saw me come back from track. The things he told me about himself going PG on his Wave, and his "project Y125Z" chasing after Malaysian Kups made me wanna laff......damn talk big.

And you know after track I get so tired I just wanna go home and shower, so I rather leave his story telling for some other time.

Peace and quiet finally!!! :thumb:

Oh....talking drivers are dangerous....when my frens drive and talked to me, I will kindly remind him to stay focus on the traffic and the task at hand. But however in Thailand, drivers are known to talk and look at you while driving, but then again, their situation awarness seems pretty high and touch wood I yet to get involved in any accident during my trips there

After riding for a while, I've always to predict the unpredictable....if I managed to see the driver having conversations with the passengers, I remind myself to be careful, as things will just happen. Unless the windows are tinted that I cannot see inside, then too bad :cheeky:

Sorry lah, dun call yourself auntie as I'm also uncle status liao....

Maybe I'm a tyre freak, as I like to look at my tyres after every ride....so I know what tyres my bike is running at my fingertips, ha ha....and not to mention the least, many frens hate me, drivers and riders alike as I seems to be the only one that keep spotting nails on their tyres, kekeke :D

talking or non talking....female drivers r dangerous hehe (til now i got no class 3 hehe) i try to stay away if i can help it. most common habit is dunno which lane to go.

well it's not a bad thing to know the status of your tyre la. i should make a more concientious effort to notice as well. nv know when it's worn out or has puncture in it. well i will try hehe, kinda took it for granted cos it's still new hehe next one i think i want to try battlax dunno which model liao heard that it's pretty good on both dry and wet. gpr 70's great on dry, wears out too fast but not much grip on wet...my other bike's on grp 70 tat's why i notice the diff.

That ROV fella purposely giving you a hard time lah. Either that or he is an on the ball officer. Usually TP or ROV officers are satisfied with a photostated copy of the approval letter...

Well, dun wanna take back cuz it might start an arguement. I'll let it be since the disc I told him only $40.....I can afford this money to see a character. Also, when I take back the disc, it's all worn....also no value to me. Rather let him keep it on his bike and reminds him to "siam" me whenever he sees me

I need not call him lah....he saw me and quickly look away.....one time I saw him while walking to the S11 to meet you....he's with his group of friends and he "coincidentally" kneel down behin his fren's bike to check something as I walked by. This few incidents already tell me so clearly this money is gone. At least the racing footrest he paid me, so not so bad. :thumb:

Er....new tyres can also get nailed you know  Kekeke....

Seriously, for you, GPR70 is overkill as you use it as a daily ride. A more sports touring is better for you. Maybe the Battlax you talking about is BT014.
