Today is Independence Day here. CycleGear... a high end Lim Ah Boy shop, is having a storewide 20% discount sales on bike accessories and apparels.

 

Rode there in the oven heat (46 C) to take a look. All the Joe Rocket jackets and riding pants were on sale but damn ex. Nothing less than USD$200 even after 20% off. But very nice though and of very good quality. I guess what is cheap ain't good and what is good ain't cheap.

 

I think the heat is also affecting the bike... bike is running slightly rough when cruising. Carb must be running too rich now.

Erm... how many of you actually bring a tyre repair kit and fixed a punctured tyre before while riding? I mean.. if you can't find the small hole or if the nail etc is not visible or fell off, you'll need some soapy water to spot the hole when it bubbles right?

 

Stop ahead of a Malaysian kup ride tonight along chin swee tunnel... Offered to push his rear foot pedal to get him out of the tunnel. But he had a tyre puncture and could not ride. Said he was going back to Malaysia... Dun know how he going back sia.. push all the way? Wonder what i could have done for him even if i had a tyre repair kit... which is about high time i go get one from LAB liao...

Whatever you did mate, regardless of the merits of the discussions for or against your actions, the bottom line was you put your pillion in danger. Its one thing to play while you're alone, its another thing altogether when someone trusts you with their life when they climb onto your bike. I did something like you, and my pillion was pissed. I never did the same thing after that again. I hope you get my point...

The word is sense of responsibility.

 

Not very easy to live with the life long guilt nor explain to the loved ones, if your pillion should die in the accident which resulted coz you were recklessly "playing" with another vehicle on the road.

 

Seen that happen to a friend before. Up till today, 23 years later, he is still remorseful.
