these few days heavy rain, low visibility, wet road and the ever present idiot drivers on road..

rain coat, sandals n clear visors is a must lo..

Just ride carefully and dun end up on our 9.30 news at night.

Please, please, please invest in a pair of waterproof booties to wear over your shoes with the raincoat.

Sandals and motorcycles is the biggest no-no combination. :faint:

I will never ride my bike wearing shoes that do not cover my ankles. Should you skid... most of the times, its your feet that hit the ground first.

Hi evryone

nid ur experience and guidance.

i was riding in the middle lane, then this idiot bus when avoiding a stalled (stopped?) vehicle, suddenly swerved into my lane without signal, but because it is a very big bus, it is moving a bit slower and there is still a gap left. i felt unsafe, so i check right most lane no vehicle and cut over. if right most lane got traffic, should i speed thru that gap or stop is better?

i think just do whatever you think is best to safe yourself in that situation, laws don't apply in emergency remember? unless you intend to abide by it and get into accident or lose your life pal :(

A safe and skilful rider is one who rides defensively in such a manner that will not get him into a dangerous situation which requires him to call upon his skills to get out.

Am I making any sense?

thks for the advice. was thinking, if i ride even slower, would tat be better? but was going at 70km/h only, already face with so much nuisance. i hate to go on left most lane (the place is near Clementi MRT station), because the cars just anihow stop. by the way, just now another similar situation happens, this idiot black car (at the same place, again!) cuts out w/o signal. i fed up and full throttle to speed past him.

Today while riding... on the right of a two lane road along Bishan st 11.. Just came out from home... Saw a youngster striding towards the road with a ciggy in hand, wasn't looking at the road, looking in the opposite direction or straight ahead... I start to slow down... close throttle... Fella walked onto the road without checking for traffic... Me horn once and slow down even more with engine braking.. He's at the middle of left lane only, me approaching maybe around 40 or slower. Fella walked straight across my path and i had to tap front brake to let him cross. Shaking my head... Youngster nowadays cross road ah.. Haiz... Never had a pedestrian try me at so close range. Its the kinda times where 99% even headed pedestrian has the time and ample warning to back away, but stride across. Maybe he was angry or had a quarrel. Anyways.. Did not test my braking skills... Haha.. Ride another day.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

I know it is easier said than done.. I too am guilty of that sometimes.

The Surgeon General has determined that allowing your emotions to control your throttle while riding is dangerous to your health.

I went for a ride around the side roads on Sunday evening and came upon this sign on a locked gate. This was about 5 minutes ride from my home.

http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o104/angelo_neo/IMG_0940.jpg

So I followed the fence and climbed up a dumpster to take this shot of the "track".

http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o104/angelo_neo/IMG_0937.jpg

You might say, so what's the big deal about a track?

This was built on private land. From what I heard the owner loves motorsports and decided to build a 3.2 km long race track on his own property.

Now if only I can find out who this guy is and make friends with him. :thumb:

land is cheap there as well rite?

It's possible. Looks like in the middle of nowhere. I know some people who buy such land and then build a warehouse there and rent it out cheaply as storage. That's what they do in the state of Nevada. Lots of land to use.
