was pissed ytd evening when going home from work....

was riding on d 2nd lane of bt timah rd... then this bugger in a merc (young guy wif a frd)... he was filtering from my left....he signal his intention to cut into my lane, but as i was already beside him, i didnt slow down and was going to accelerate when he juz cut in... brake like hell just to avoid him. i horn (using a electric horn) - so i assume its quite loud... he bo chup. just cut from the left lane all the way to the right to do a u--turn... i seriously must applause him. his father must have own the entire road - no doubt... to my anger, after i pass him, i saw him chatting happily on the fone.. didnt even bother to look ard him...

in this time of needs, i suddenly wish uncle tp is around or behind me...

catch that bloody idiot..

but haiz.. who care about biker if u are driving a merc... :p :dot:

OMG, that sounds so much like my friend! He's driving a Merc and stays around that area. Does it happen to be a black colour S-class Merc with Chinese Buddhist words at the back of the car?

Seriously I hope it's not him because he told me there was once he almost knocked down another bike too as he didn't see blindspots. And he was given the middle finger by the biker.

hope more UNCLES come out to patrol and catch those buggers using HP while driving and change lane w/out checking blindspot :D though my colleagues does that too, but they do it with checking blindspot ;)

pillion a fellow forumner Valerie just now from redhill to batok, on aye exit jurong town hall, suddenly feel my bike kinda rear side like jammed or going to skid.Clutch in and brake slowly.Mananged to go onto the pavement beside traffic light and found out chain got out of rear sprocket, darn loose..picture will upload later..

then took my torch and shone it into the front sprocket part and saw my front sprocket is GONE!! :faint: told Valerie it could be on the road when I first felt the jamming, then he found it on the road 15m away from where i felt it... front+rear sprocket + chain is new and few weeks old only..Original Honda ta200 sprocket and Regina Chain(think its italy made).

now bikeless and have to share public transport again.. :(

You change the sprocket and chain out yourself or did a mechanic do it?

If it is a mechanic which you paid to the job... its time to go and do some complaining and demand for a full refund.

Saw something similar like this happen to my previous Fazer a few months back. New chain, new sprocket. I already noticed that the C-clip on the connecting link was a bit rusty... then a couple days later, missing.

So my girl was riding the bike, and I was following right behind, heading to the shop to check out the chain. From the rear I saw the link literally exploded... LOL. The link shot out diagonally across the road nearly hitting my tyres, and the chain fell out like a dead snake. And that was it... had to push the bike to a safe location and call in the tow truck.

Sucks to be stranded doesn't it? :D

raptor: i got it towed there last night for 25 bucks and this morning took a cab down from my school and it was fixed FOC. Mech said the screw wasn't good or sth liddat and changed for me that part. But something smells fishy. I don't think I'd wanna pursue this also. Because, I don't know how either :p

DeusExMachina: my chain didn't break off, it just came loose cuz of the front sprocket. :giddy: luckily I did clutch in..and how could you have let your babe ride that when you noticed the fault back then lol..endangered your loved one.

well I was sitting on my bike enjoying the cars and bikes going past me and taking a look around to see what I don't normally see while riding

but this morning tried to take a bus/cab to school made me remember why I chose to ride a 2b bike.. :faint:

lols... worse off mine my company driver an uncle super dangerous on the road... can swerve in and out as and when he likes it...

That time told him to stop at the bus stop after traffic light, the next thing he forgets and almost wheez past it till i yelled and he stopped and asked what what and said why didnt inform him earlier. THE FCUK!?

summore hor... usually when we tell the driver first day where to go, where to turn to, tell him once and he knows the route the following day.

This one hor... Already more than one week liaos... HE KEPT ASKING THE SAME STUPID QUESTION.

"Turn left?", "Turn right?", "Go straight?".

After that, abrupt lane-changing here and there.

And stop at bus stop when there is a bus infront, he won't stop behind the bus. He will OVERTAKE and stop INFRONT of the bus. And when the bus was GOING to move off, he wave his way out-and-in and move rather far from the bus stop. KNS LAR OLD MAN! DX

I was like... omg... this old man is forcing me to ride everyday to work instead of taking the company transport home... I FEEL much safer riding on my bike than in his BUS.

But for the sake of saving fuel... haiz haiz.

Well, the bike is her primary transport machine to work (besides being our weekend/tour bike). I'm more comfortable knowing that she rides a more powerful and stable bike with better brakes... etc etc.

I take the rickety old Phantom to work everyday. :D Inferior tyres, inferior brakes, yada yada yada the works.

We thought to leave the FZ at the bike shop instead of hanging around, hence I followed her behind on the Phantom. Actually, I was the one who was endangered... had I been riding beside her, the flying link would have swiss-cheesed me... LOL. :D

Not yet. Let me enjoy at least 2 months of beautiful riding weather first.

Then its thermal underwear time.

Soon will have to tune the bike carb pilot system richer to compensate for the colder denser air or not will end up running too lean.

Work is exactly 4.5 miles or 7 km from home or 6 traffic lights or ten minutes.

Ya, air temperatures and carburation is not so much an issue in Singapore as the temperature and elevation does not vary radically.

You are not wrong to think that. The city of Phoenix is bigger than our island.

And Americans like to talk of distances in blocks. One block is about half a mile. When they say, its only 4 blocks down the street, it means its 2 miles or 3.2 km down the street. A Singaporean if he were to take it literally would think about 4 HDB blocks down the road. :giddy:

Looks like summer is really over. No more over 100 degrees F days.

Riding to work in the mornings is like riding in an aircon room. Nice.

Enjoy it while you still can. When I was riding in Brisbane, Australia, day time is cool to ride in the day and night time is freezing. That was the winter season for riding.

Wow, it sounds so fun riding overseas. If only I have a chance to experience this kind of weather...
