Ya, air temperatures and carburation is not so much an issue in Singapore as the temperature and elevation does not vary radically.

 

You are not wrong to think that. The city of Phoenix is bigger than our island.

And Americans like to talk of distances in blocks. One block is about half a mile. When they say, its only 4 blocks down the street, it means its 2 miles or 3.2 km down the street. A Singaporean if he were to take it literally would think about 4 HDB blocks down the road.

if its 4 hdb blocks, i'll opt for my foldable bicycle to ride over..if its 3.2km, erm I'll opt for my ta200 daily to and fro btw, which part on earth you're residing in now?

Wow, it sounds so fun riding overseas. If only I have a chance to experience this kind of weather...

*method 1*

1) open your freezer door

2) take a towel

3) put some ice cubes in it and wrap it

4) wrap it around your face and put it into the freezer

5) thank the person for inventing Fridges and Air Conditioner

1) pass your 2b

2) soak yourself wet in the middle of the night

3) hurry down to your bike and ride to BKE and off to Mandai Rd with at least 60km/h and you'll feel it

Last winter I was riding in minus 2 degrees C weather in the mornings to work.

The shivering is not so much an issue but more the difficulty in moving the fingers to work the front brakes and clutch.

 

In January this year, I tried to go for a trackday one Sunday morning at about 6 AM. Wore thermals, T-shirt and the full leather suit and yet still had to give up and return home.. it was cold till it hurts till you wanna scream out.

 

But nevertheless, it is an experience.

wow, double team think my phantom has to struggle to get to that height and I've to struggle more to flip it over think its a much easier thing to get someone do a photoshop job for me

then see amber light, i brake la

then ....... dio horn.... then see mirror, this kuku red suzuki swift is so bloody big in my mirror.... i think 1cm more, his car touch my bike le lor......

then i look at him.... the wave at me, (those damn buay song hand waving... almost like asking .... lee zho simi lan jiao.....)

To him... amber traffic light means "accelerate" whereas to others it means "prepare to stop".

The next time this happen park your bike on side stand get off and knock his window. If he really not happy ask him park the car one corner and talk.

 

Thats what i did when there was this a** who horned me immediately after the left turn arrow flash. He think i no need change gear and all ah.

once i stopped in time for red light and on both my right and left, a van and a car dashed by. if i had not been on the dotted lines (though this is not right) i would hv been reared!

hmm... today i found out sth very interesting... mabbe coz i am playful bahs... or just thinking i can quickly switch lane if i know a vehicle coming from a distance...

 

My bad, so dun learn it from me!

 

I sped at lane 1! and another car sped at lane 2! but i stayed rather back behind him cept maintaining same speed 110km/hr. I kept looking at my mirror from time-to-time every 30sec ~ 60sec to see if got vehicle speeding across lane 1. Just as I give a 3 ~ 5 mins grace and look at the mirror... BINGO!!!

 

I think the vehicle like travelling 140km/hr or more... coz it cant be in a flick of an eye takes 1min or so from a super far distance to a super close distance...

 

den oh sheesh! I am like few inches away from the next vehicle in lane 2! Either I slow down and go behind him, or speed up and go infront of him... I took choice 2 coz choice 1 seemed dangerous with the super fast vehicle behind! Tailgating me summore seh... >.

OH! One lesson I've learnt... Must stay behind cars at all times dun play play with lane 1 coz super-cars can appear out of nowhere... Always always stay behind cars when overtaking coz they may feel buay song coz you bike they car they more powerful and faster... >.

But dunno lei... some vehicles when they slow... den I overtake, they become super fast and overtake me... >_> Must be meek... motorbike low class than cars cannot overtake!!!

wah, i dont want to sound like i bullying ah but this happened at 2am. from cte exiting toward serangoon road/bendemeer rd. as i and my young brother (both riding same type of class 2b vehicle) were nearing the intersection of the exit where the PIE exit and CTE connects my brother speed up. I saw it my brother overtook a sunny nissan ahead. To my right a van crazily speed pass me, overtook the nissan w/o signalling (the nissan slightly swerved left and right)and then proceeded to cut in my brothers 1st lane w/o singnaling too.

Temper flared up within me. From afar i say my darah daging (means familly), almost being knocked down a reckless van. i sped up (luckily it was red light the exit left towards potong pasir, straight macpheson, right bendemeer) and pass by the nissan driver which turn out to be a female in her 30s, and she looked pale, i horned her abit and gave a thumbs up sign and she just nodded. my brother proceeded to right of his van and stared at the driver intently. the driver who was in his 40s, chinese male with specs just looked ahead. i was on his left and proceeded in front of his van. I glance behind me looking at him right in the eye. as slowly turn my head foward, clutch in 1st gear kicked down. Right hands on the front brake. then slowy reving up my throtle and releasing my cluth. My back end started to shift right and left uncontrollably. Only for 5 second before the green light turn and i moved of turning right into bendemeer. another red light before the ERP junction. i looked at my mirror. the van was engulf in smoke. Smell rubber dum dum.

i took the dotted line on 1st lane and the van stopped beside me on my right. i looked at him and he was busy clapping away and laughing like a nerd. I saw my brother stopped by his right and then he knocked on the window. That moment his hand clapping hand froze in the air at my direction and his head turned to his right at my brothers direction. He had his mouth half opened, suddenly stunned. i got my bike and went in front of his van and motioned him with my hand to come out. i took of my helmet and so did my brother. My brother put on his side stand but did not get off his bike and gave him hand signals to ask him whats wrong and showed him a hand puppet show that he had cut him w/o signalling. i banged at his small bonnet. He bounced on his seat. I motioned him out again. He started to put his hands together praying and the gave me and my brother the salute as if asking for apology. All this while i stared at him and then i used my right index finger to point at him. 1st my wrist swayed up and down, warning him to watch out. 2nd my wrist swayed left and right, warning him not to do it again. I got on my bike and moved off followed by my brother. we passed by the canal and didnt see the van coming at all.
