Whats the bike plate number? Check for the COE expiration date. RXZ @ $166/mnth is too expensive. I'm paying mine at $106/mnth and left 16 months also. COE expire at 2010.

 

My advise is, check out somewhere else. Not worth your money.

OK. If first hand then, its quite cheap. But have a look first at the bike. Check the tires, scratches, signals. If its up to your standard, then by all means.

 

I can only advise, the choice is up to you.

hey bros... need recomendation to overhaul my rxz... or any good shop to open up and check whats wrong inside my engine... Dont dare to ride fast also... some kinda weird sound coming from my bike engine... very worried....

it will be even better if you can state the price for top overhaul...

Thank you so much for the detailed explanations, i highly appreciate it Actually meantime i found some info on Google too ("rempit" origin = "ramp it", i.e. "ramp the throttle")...... i think i'll use the word for the sticker I like it..... altough i'm neither Malay nor illegal street racer (who would want to race me anyway? They'll lose xixixi). Mine bike doesn't look fast with all those add-on but still IS fast, well it's an RXZ after all

 

Sukhumvit soi 3 i know, there is many arab people there too, i used to work close to there for a while. I'm not a muslim but i like the food too - there is one particular (try to remember the name, it's a thai name - like "Ba Mee Nam Nuea", it contain noodles and beef), very nice! Also some stall in Silom has what they call "Rod Dee" or like that, it's muslim too but of indian or pakistani origin, i LOVE it!

 

I am not a thai guy myself, actually i'm western - from Germany, but i stay in Thailand for close to 7 years already and ride the RXZ since almost exactly 2 years (little over actually, 2 years and 3 weeks now) and so far around 24.000 kilometers with it - excellent bike. It is much older than yours tough - mine is year 1994, the clock shows 65.000 kilometers but it must be more because when i got it there was no speedmeter cable installed. Mostly the RXZ here are (mis)used as heavy transport vehicles - like to carry gas bottles etc, and most of them are in very poor condition. Mine was a total piece of junk when i got it and i "rescued" it from scrap, and since then it never let me down.

 

Here there is no "C.O.E.", we only pay insurance ("Tor Ra Bor") and road tax - both of which are very cheap, i just paid mine three weeks ago the insurance was 450 Baht (~14 us$) and the tax is 100 Baht (~3 us$) only. Riding a motorbike is the cheapest form of own transport here which is why they are so popular. But a bigger bike is very expensive to buy because they are imported, a 500cc Honda cost half a million Baht easily and a Harley (the cheapest one!) is 1.2 Million. Only the "Made In Thailand" are cheap, like Wave etc (mostly the Kapchai type, there is very few others - Kawasaki GTO is one, or the Honda "Phantom" 200cc chopper, and Honda CBR 150). Mine RXZ was "Made In Thailand" too A shame Yamaha does not import the new ones, but then - because "import" they probably would be too expensive. Sadly now those horrible automatic type Kapchai become so popular - i don't like those.

Sawadikup(cai)!!! Hehe... I just check on the make of my RXZ and it said tat my Z was born in the year 1985! Which means it is just 1 year younger than me. Haha... And u said tat those Zs on Thai's street were very old... I guess the outlook of ur bike depends on how well u maintain it...

Your insurance and road tax is cheap. That's why I noticed a lot of Thais use motor bikes as a camel. I have a question, how do you learn to read the road signs when you first ride your bike in Thailand. And where's the furthest you've been with your bike?
