280 must be another p-plate discount for me. compare your y1- block price with y4- size 0.0 selling at scrapyard for $180.

most people think that y1 and y2 is good becos its a japan made block and out of production. FYI, there is still japan block selling out there on Y4. go to the agent and ask about it.

Hi.

But after reach 2.00 can change the liner and go back to 0.00 :cheeky:

This was offered to me at the exact same cost as reboring, however mine's bored up to 150cc so i declined the offer.

Kind regards....

Thanh

Hi :)

Yeah it can be done.... same process as re-boring after a piston seizure, just make it a much larger diameter, in this case some 9 millimeters more. Can use either RXK or VRR/TZR piston to get 150 cc displacement (those have same stroke as RXZ).

If the block is not ported the engine will retain the same characteristics as original (same rpm's, same top speed) but will gain low-rpm power due to the higher displacement.

However mine is ported as well so it has much higher rpm's (beyond 14.000 if i want to) PLUS the higher low-rpm power. I see the difference bewteen my two RXZ (second one has a stock engine) when coming out from my underground parking lot - the stock one barely makes the steep ramp with high rpm in first gear and slipping clutch while the "souped up" one goes easy at 2.500 rpm, like a tractor. And in top speed the stock one won't go any higher than 150 km/h while the souped up one "clears the meter" (mind you i have a 200 km/h meter!) which equals close to 190 km/h in real (on a digital meter) as the stock meters always show too much. This is despite the souped up one is much heavier due to my mounted bull bar, top case, large wind shield and other accessories.

But it is an easy-t-ride bike which i use daily to work and back, some 300+ kilometers per week. Due to the fact that i can ride the whole time at or below 5,000 rpm it is very economical too, and at traffic lights i can shock the "Sonic" and "Nouvo" drag racers.

In terms of horse power, the stock RXZ engine develops around 18-20 horse power and mine approximately 35 horse power, the block has the potential to do 50 horse power if i add a chamber pipe and a larger carb, however i use a stock RXZ carb and stock "Lemang" pipe.

But now, at almost 84,000 kilometers on the meter, the engine is dying - i expected it to happen at some stage, i will bring it to the shop tomorrow for a full overhaul - all bearings, shaft seals and a new con rod, the engine makes strange noises since a few days (con rod lower bearing about to fail) and i do NOT want to wait for it to seize, the piston is almost new still :) Bearings and con rod are still the 1994 stock factory installed parts, have never been changed - and when i got the bike there was no speed meter cable so nobody knows what it's actual mileage is... i myself have done some 43,000 kilometers in two years and a few months.

Lucky i have a second RXZ and even a VRR to chose for the two days my beloved Bulldozer will be down.

Kind regards....

Thanh

Hi :)

Yeah that was the word i went fishing for :) I am not native English speaker either (i'm in fact German) so sometimes i, too, don't know the correct words.

My RXZ (Bulldozer, the souped up one) is in the shop now, ALL engine bearings, shaft seals and the con rod being changed. I'll get it back tomorrow.

Kind regards.....
