Hey guys,

Since it's so difficult to get a WR200 these days since it's out of production, any idea what other dirtbikes I can look at?

My criterias are quite simple really. I just need it to be fully compatible with the Trail Tech Vapor digital speedo/tacho. And it'll be good if I can get a brand new bike. How much will it cost? So what's good besides a WR200 and KTM(too expensive for newbie)? Honda? Suzuki? Any websites someone can recommend for me to go read bike reviews?

All your kind responses are most appreciated as always. :bounce:

get a xr125!!

the trailtech vapor should be able to fit on most bikes..

new 2b scrams quite few.. ktm2, xr125, think dr200 also have.. or you can always go for the aprilia mx125.. but if money is an issue for you, i suggest you keep away from the european brand..

I had a hard time finding a WR200. But if you really look well there are alot of Wr200 that are for sale. Did u try slacks? Theres even selling a WR motard. But becareful when sourcing for a 2nd hand WR. I bought a WR that require alot of work. In the end i spent a bomb on my bike

xr200, dr200 would be good.

new bike would cost much more than a used ktm200.

Ok...I need some help. What's a DR200 & XR200? Is it a Honda, Suzuki or Yamaha?

Sorry I'm very limited in my dirtbike knowledge...I'm only familiar with KTM & Yamaha. :cheeky:

Oh so true. you will almost never find a problem-free 2nd hand scram. get an experienced fren to tag along when test riding. Or you can get a 2nd hand bike form the shop (most will give at least a mth warranty). Or better yet, get a brand new one $$$$!!!:thumb:

Hey overcrash, Is that bike in the pic yours? I think you and I are living in the same block. Your bike's like my dream dirt bike man. It's really nice and the colours are tastefully done. Looks like a competition machine and the number's quite funny. I was hoping to find the owner here and ask him bout his bike. Is it a Honda?

hmm....if I manage to fix up my bike to your standard, dun think I'll go trailing. Probably keep it for Orchard trail... :cheeky: Then again, I don't mind trying out trailing at least once. I might even end up falling for it! But I get a headache just thinking bout the cleaning that comes after.

Your bike doesn't seem old at all. In fact I've seen you ride down Hougang Ave 9 before and the bike's acceleration is gooooooood. Love dirtbikes for their speed off the line. :p

Must meet up one day to show me your bike man(if ya dun mind)...I'm eager to learn bout dirtbikes.

still can go trail la, but maybe get an extra set of plastics lo (like what i did)

The cleaning part is ok! $5 settle liao! tried, tested and proven!

It is old la, very old! Paid enough to make it work ! but still can't fight a ktm2 (unless the rider really damn sucky , cos a lauya rider on a ktm2 still can (and should) be faster than me!)

no prob! what you riding now anyway ?

Eh...I'm not sure what I'm riding now...think it's a 150cc Yamaha thing. I'll try to see if there's a model number somewhere when I ride it on Sunday at SSDC. :cheeky:

Yes, I'm still a learner. Saving up for my 1st bike though. It's gotta be a scram. Cause I've been heavily influenced by my bro's scrams since young. He had 2 really cool ones. A Kawasaki KDX(I think...pls correct me if I'm wrong) and a KTM200.

Well I'll probably be using it on the roads most often and besides, I like the way the trailtech vapor looks. Especially the white backlit LCD screen. Looks cool at night. It'll be good if it's fully functional cause I heard the rev counter doesn't work on WR200s.

I'll definitely join you and Sam for trailing man. You guys been so helpful here. :bounce:

You mean you can pay the guys at the carwash to clean your bike for you? How do they clean? Do they just spray your bike with a water jet? Isn't that harmful to the engine components and all?
