I am contemplating getting a scooter that has a coe in 2013 mid as it is just before the increase in coe. I already have a 200cc motorbike which I would keep and due to its reliability will not sell. However it is 11 years old.

Should I get another bike that cc is lesser than my current bike? I have rode scoots for many years elsewhere and like the convenience. but this bike Iam looking at is 7+k and insurance is 300 plus for third party, add to that parking tax, etc I am looking at 500 plus a year.

I ride 500km plus a month that is very little and If i get another bike, the mileage would be spilt.

I am torn because if I would buy the bike, I am worried I would regret and if I didnt buy and the coe rises somemore and if i decided to get the bike like that, it might go up. Should the existing coe prices be taken into account when getting a bike?Should I buy? or should I wait and get a 2a license and go for a larger bike that I like ?

how huh guys?

ya, it is just want. Greedy. . . both for transport, marketing n buying food actually. This month a only used 210km on my current bike usually it is 500 a month. Something about the coe is making me want to buy, I worry next year or so the bikes get older, the price maintains because of the higher coe. Then it is like getting an old bike for the same price but I get what you mean.

the newer scoot coe till 2023 is very fuel efficient but given my mileage, it wont even justify the $15 monthly parking.

You are right, it is the same purpose. Its just that I always wanted a scooter...but I wont let go my reliable bike and the coe, parking insurance is driving the cost up.

same like my situation except i have already got a scoot , a realiable bike which i use for many various purposes and a car which gets so much help from my reliable bike. if you think that your mileage is very little than dont buy that scoot even though you like scooter (yeah i loove scoot too.) if that reliable bike is honda then just keep it alone

its a honda.... and the scoot... also honda... haiz.

and the weird thing, last few days I went viewing...just as I walk away after parking my bike to view a scoot, my bike alarm suddenly just activated by itself and cannot be off. I had to plug out the wire to disable it, almost like it didnt like me viewing another bike.

hahahhahahahha. my baby also the same feelings. like after viewing a bike at a shop, then somehow cannot start. must crank many times. check side stand, nuetral, check key on, check petrol, check battery. all ok.

Wow yours also like that! ya, if all bike like that jiatlat, cannot sell already.

I used to have a few bikes at a time overseas, here, wanna own more than 1 bike also have to think so much. the overheads are just too high especially if in the same cc class.

it all comes down to your affordability. overseas have no such thing as coe, parking fee , high road and insurance etc, etc, etc. ont thing i am glad. in my younger days , i have owned many bikes and enjoyed them. now with family , i have to think about others. but my love for riding has not been detered. maybe in future coe price will go up even more but i hope to ride still .
