I'd like to ask, whats the range of eo we can use for our phantom on local roads? have been using 20w50 all this while. Is those cheap castrol 10w40 at lab alright? Spark plug installation is very straight forward right? Just have to estimate the gap. Have to put eo in ma?

for local road 10w40 is also ok. all depend on wat u wan for your engine. 20w50 is thicker.

as for spark plug juz need to disconnect the plug and unscrew out the old spark plug and put in the new plug. No EO is needed for that.

no... its should be warm up ride first, before you strip the existing lube + gunk off your chain... riding around with the lube stripped = a very sad chain...

oh.. i use a $10 degreaser from "chapter 2 cycle" shop in AMK.. not bad. then gt85 or gp1 depends on when i'm going to ride...

gt85 need to give it a day to let the lub settles in first.. cause it's a wet lub.. while gp1 looks dry lub to me ;-)

use kerosene if can for degreasing...dun use those chemical degreaser, because it would affect ur rubber rings inside ur chain...GT85 is good from my exp...spray thick thick and wash it off with water then spray again to displace the water, followed by chain wax

Cheers!

u can buy it in almost any bike shop, its only the brand and how well it clings onto the chain while riding, there's brand like maxima, PJ1 and Bel-ray....juz to name a few, personally tried maxima, and it really works w/o flinging the wax onto the rear rim...

Cheers!

GT85 strips the old lube, same category as your "chapter 2 cycle" or kerosene ah, dun mix up leh. After applying GT85, need to wash it off and apply proper lube/wax. :)

im afraid it will displace e chain wax and grease thats why never do. also,if we never lube e rings properly after that, even worse. Might lead to rusting too if u lube too little. :faint: Im starting to feel that maxima chain wax is too dry. :( but with any other, chain will be black. Choice is urs but im stuck with this can for the next year.

Btw, i feel that this chain care is overrated. Auto oilers for the love of diy, anti fling lubes for the love of cosmetics and fling like no tomorrow lubes that does the job well :thumb:

have anyone tried those cheap eo from ah boy and bought spark plugs from them? Im thinking of diy but paranoia of quality might bring me to good old planet which reminds me to get my filters blown and brake fluids topped up.

Anyone knows why my fc only can rover around 32-34? Im 75kg btw with a rear box and saddles. Low rev most of e time. Chong doesnt seem too good with tuning and i wish mepkoh would be more detailed with e tuning for diyers.

Without proper dyno, tuning becomes an art (or "agaration", if you will). No choice but to based on experience, which brings up the question of consistency and personal preference. Try making minute adjustment to the A/F ratio and use your butt dyno to tell.

Cannot really blame Chong or whoever that tunes based on listening to the idling beat only. For proper tuning based on "feel", you need to make the changes, ride around to feel the bike response, come back make adjustment, and go ride around again to see if the change is positive or negative, then make subsequent adjustment, and repeat until you get the "most correct" feel. Since bike shop tune by feel for free, cannot expect them to spend like 30 mins just to get the best setting for you lor.

For me, after getting Ah Chong to set the carb, I use that as a baseline. Riding back home, already got the initial feel. As I ride to work everyday, usually will make adjustment before riding to office, take note of changes/effect, then make adjustment before riding home, etc. Whole process actually spreaded out across many days! Hehe.

yea thats right! fling like no tomorrow chain lubes for the win!

my FC is about 30km/l... but running lean means that you are going to get a green exhaust pipe...
