Hi guys, recently i left my cbr1000 alone for 3 weeks without riding. Ytd when i tried to start it, after i turned on the ignition key, there is no light at the electronic meter, horn also no sound. Practically it remain the same like I never turn on the ignition. Is it that the battery is flat? And could jump start solve the problem?

yes batt flat. yes jump start can solve. and a proper ~15min ride should charge it back to useable. or manually bring home the batt and charge to be safer.

BUT....

if the batt drained out too quickly because old batt, then you'll have to change coz the period of time between unuse when it go flat again will keep getting shorter and shorter.

if the batt drained too quickly because something is 'leaking out' the electricity, such as a poor or improperly installed alarm system or other electrical aftermarket add-on, then you have to find and rectify this problem because a new batt will still drain too quickly.

if the batt is discharging 'normally' and just that 3 weeks too long to store without unplugging, then charging the batt back up should be enough. however i do not know if 3 weeks to flat is 'normal' for your bike and batt brand. certainly mine will crank very weakly after 3 weeks of unuse, but wont be flat. and a good ride charges it back to normal with no problems.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

If you're lucky, it's your batt flat. Flat batt just take out the batt for charging, don't bother call towing. After charge monitored the batt status - if it still drain out fast it's time to change batt.

If no charger, borrow from friend or bring batt to shop to charge or just buy a 3-pin wall charger to charge at home. Or you can look for limbatt to ask him for a demo charge, he's selling those 3-pin charger for car and bike batt.

I recommend getting a 3-pin charger so that you can charge at home. My batt like 3-4 years old liao, so every half a year I need to take it out to do a complete charge.
