near my house of course haha but everyone stays at diff area. im at north east, no bike shops around there yet.

to not have queue to fix bike but i guess that's not possible too cauz that will mean bad business for you.

What do u want? Cheap? Or quality stuff?

i prefer honest shop more than anything else. most shops tells you this spoil that spoil ask you change but actually nothing is spoilt. or when the bike got problem but they dunno what's wrong they say change whole part without troubleshooting.

as long as it is windy and got chair will be good

i guess if everyone post the same as me would be of great help?

hey thanks 'justforme'... I will look into it to see if we can consider opening it at northeast side lol..

to not queue? shouldn't be an issue with more manpower...

or faster turnover time

I used to go to some bike shops... they provide some cheap parts example cheap chain... which doesn't last say 1/2 year... but well... changing chain frequently... still cheaper than buying an expensive chain..

lol.... will look into all of the above anyway! =)

thanks

will update once the location as been updated

Its difficult to please all the people all the time. sometimes its also difficult to please some of the people some of the time. Your intention can and maybe noble when starting, but sooner or later, you will be swollowed by the spiralling demands of many variables which you cannot control. so what way will you be headed : up up up

Mr Biker... no one can please everyone... but after being to many bike shops throughout the years... I still believe in providing good service..

I realize that many bike shops do not have sort of a feedback system which I would definitely start and review.

so don't worry bt it... to me im more customer oriented...

yes... cost does increase but so does our customer service...

many places... cost increase but quality decrease... pointless... it really depends on how much cost increase

realistically speaking all these cost increase will be pushed to customers... but not a huge jump...

not sure if u realize that some places... increase is a huge jump... and many things are not transparent... like pricing

its like.... ask me for price first before u do.. which means there is a chance of being overquoted as everything is based on memory.

talk is cheap... but I will definitely do it by actions

Then ALL the best to you. appreciate your honesty. In my 25years of riding, have visited too many bike shops. some good and some bad. some first good then turn out bad, some good and then still good (but barely) and some bad and never improve (makes ME wonder how they manage to survive all the years)

Main driving point is what the shop can do and at what cost. Can dyno? Can do warranty issues? Can bring in this and that? All while providing that at reasonable costs for example some shops charge more for labour vs others, to each their own.

As far as cheap or quality stuff goes, certain things don't matter and has no purpose being expensive other than due to the brand name.

What are the areAs that u would like ur bike shop to be? East as it is closer to my house. And to be honest, it makes more business sense as majority of the population is residing closer or in the east.

What do u expect from the bike shop u frequent? For mechanic, they must be honest, responsible, technical and meticulous. For workshop, must be tidy, using quality tools, spacious ( I dun like to see bikes cluster F together. Tendency of scratching something). And also resourceful, meaning able to source most accessories and parts.

What do u want? Cheap? Or quality stuff? I don't expect cheap to go with quality. I prefer the term value for money. I would not mind paying abit more to get quality work. But this is subjective, depending on who you ask.

What do u want the bike shop to provide in order for u to have a comfortable time while watching ur bike get the best treatment. A cooling area with seats and maybe a TV to kill the boredom? Some device to dry the helmet will be nice also.

I'd honestly say west. Create one with outstanding service, where people would go to. Better than being overcrowded and having to fight with the shops in the east... where as you know, most bikers are loyal to their mechanics. To win one loyal customer while being in the same area as their regular shop, is just that hard...

But its up to your strategy on how you want to stand out in the current market. Remember to study your customer base vs strategy while choosing location.

Venue of bike shop is of little concern, imo.

If you quote honestly and service properly, riders don't mind travelling to your shop for it's services. Afterall, Singapore is only this big.

But that is the problem, getting a motorshop to quote honestly is like asking them to fly.

Western areas would be nice.

What do u expect from the bike shop u frequent?

Very much the same as Kinwei said.

What do u want? Cheap? Or quality stuff?

Value for money.

A twist to this, probably.

Perhaps a basic Teach-Yourself DIY session for EO change or intermediate to advance DIY. Since you will have mechanics there with you, you could offer a working space for anyone who wants to DIY their beloved bike, fondling their own bikes in some ways. :) Of course, depending on your working space, you could work out some work space rental for DIY with tools provided and charge an hourly rate or monthly rate for bike upgrade projects or major jobs. If any problems occurs, your mechanics would come to the rescue.

This way, your mechanics would feel their job is more than working on the machines because they are also the instructors to whoever wants to DIY. Some bikers may have extensive technical knowledge and could benefit your mechanics. Some bikers would prefer to do their own but they may not know where to get or dispose the "liquid" properly and to get the right tools. Win-Win strategy, if works out.

Hatred do not ever cease in this world by hating but by love.

This is an eternal truth...

Overcome anger by love.

Overcome evil by good.

Overcome the miser by giving.

Overcome the liar by truth.

honest shop.

i travel across the island to a shop that i trust. i know the mech wont anyhow quote me, and will give me advice that is good for me and bike. i can even put the bike there and go off have lunch knowing that the job will be done properly and the problem will be fixed, and the trip won't be a waste of my time. I don't even need to bargain or check pricing cause he consistently gives me a reasonable price.

1) honest mech

2) reasonable and consistent pricing

3) no need to queue (but i come at hours where others are working so it's not really an issue)

Comfort wise, just give me a plastic chair to sit and a toilet nearby and it's fine. Would rather not have sofa, tv, drinks etc. and in the end all these costs make their way into my bill...

boring rider. with a boring bike.

too old to want to appear interesting anymore.

Personally I would like my Mech to be honest. Truthful. Not all out just to make your $$$. (my current car mech offer reasonable pricing. sincere advice on my car parts etc. Won't want us to spend un-necessary upgrades etc ... unless you insists). Thats why I travel from Bedok to WCEGA to service my car, buy tyre from him. I won't say his price is the cheapest but reasonable. Things and area that he's not familiar, he will tell you that he have no experience and be open about it.

So if you can treat your client with your heart, reasonable price, honest sincere, people will be willing to travel to you. (seriously SG is not that big) ...

Oh... and for bike shop, hopefully can have a place to seat and chat while waiting. (previously when I got time, I like to go to my friends bicycle shop to chat at Vertex.. shiok). ; )

If client find some online source that sells items for their bikes, ideally if the shop can help to ship-in the items, assist with installation (with labour of course), then will be excellent.

just my 2 cents worth..

Bro u source more shops under HDB like paya ubi places or Ubi ave 4 ...or Tampines...

1. Professional

2. Transparent

3. Well setup - http://bluecatmotorcycle.com/ I have not seen a shop better spaced than this.

4. Friendly environment

5. Uses torque wrench for specific task

6. Please don't trial and error on our bikes...like knock the parts in with a sledge hammer instead of a rubber head type...

Just me petpeeves... Maybe I'm just picky..
