Hmm the shop tt i bought the bike from...the mechanic there told me to use semi syn EO. But i went 2 another shop, the mechanic there told me to use fully syn coz EO itz better for the engine. So any1 here care to unravel this? :giddy:

supposedly fully is better for the engine cuz of the property of the oil.

dun quote me, but in my own opinion, i not gonna use the same bike for 30 years, so semi or fully is fine as long regular EO change is implemented. i dunno how long it'll take for us to realise how much better for the engine fully is compared to semi. 5 yrs? 10yr? 3yrs? beats me.

on another note, i'm gonne use fully soon on my cbr to see if it runs much smoother than my current semi.

wah...so much updates in the thread these few days huh? think CBR150 getting more common already. haha. with the decline of 2-stroke 2B sportsbikes, our 1 and only 4-stroke 2B sportsbike in Spore is making it big! :p

anyway, glad that the few CBR riders are no longer selling off their bike already. cheers!

did the supposed outing yesterday materialise?

Aman, whats your top so far? Anyway this bike ah use what engine oil? Which one better? fully or semi? some friends say fully but some say semi. even mechanic say semi. oh ya, why my rear brake like never eat like that ah? must press hard then can brake.

top wat? speed issit? 130km/hr.. top FC 41.7km/litre.. haha..

i've been using castrol R4, fully synthetic. actually no diff laa. better got many reasons for it to b better. semi need to change every 2.5k and fully need to change 5k. for both castrol, semi costs $13 and fully costs $20.

hmm.. ur frens say fully better. mayb bcos, if u do e math, 5k spend $20. mech say semi better, mayb bcos 5k spend total $26. hahaha.. to me, both same la. duno any difference. only the cost and time to change it :cheeky:

ur brake, not sure. cos my brake also like tt, racing footrest mah :giddy: hahaha..

btw, learnt something new today.. just now while on the way to somewhere, wen i finally reached my destination and doing my last u-turn of tt journey, my clutch cable snap sia!! hahaha..

called my father to help me buy cable. luckily the shop at bukit batok open on sunday :) so, i tried to change the cable myself. after a few twists n turns, i can ride again.. haha.. luckily the weather today was on my side

hmm, hope doesn't happen to anyone of u. i can tell u the signs n symtoms that ur clutch is goin to snap. at least u all know already and can b prepared..

while riding and changing gear, when u open throttle, ur rpm will suddenly shoot up like hell. which means the gears r not fully engaged. like in between gear 2 n gear 3 n so on.. it'll b fine for a few km of ur ride before it happens again. if u guys feel sumtin like tt, better go to a nearby shop to check, or replace.. unless buy spare n put in the seat compartment. haha.. cos so far, 3 of my frens kena liao before me :cheeky:

Hmm ok. Although i definitely haf heard from some riders that fully syn EO takes better care of the engine somehow. Haha. I gez i'l just stick to fully syn EO la. Since it lasts longer as Aman pointed out.

woo...u are quite a mechanic huh. haha. frm my understanding it can be quite a bi.tch to replace the clutch cable. need to adjust the positioning of the various parts to accomodate to the length of the cable etc

got my clutch cable replaced when i bought my bike. hope it can last me long enough. :cheeky: and hope this snapping thing wont happen to my throttle cable instead :giddy:

haha.. ya, cos the length of e cable is like juz nice. actually not bad la. fix the one below 1st den fix the one to the clutch lever. it's easier tt way. cos b4 tt i did it e other way round n it was more difficult..

waah.. throttle cable looks like more complicated :faint:

semi i change every 2.5k, my other bike i use fully, i changed around 3.5 to 4k. somehow, 5k sounds too much to me, last time my super 4 i try 5k on fully, felt that it gets kinda rough on the engine around 4k. just my own opinion, try it yourself then u can feel the difference maybe?

hmm.. if u change clutch lever before, i tink changing clutch cable shld quite simple. cos luckily tt time i saw my mech change my clutch lever. so got some knowledge. haha..

erm, bought my bike last march. until just now.. so ard 1yr 3mths. wen i pull out the clutch cable, inside is very very rusty. so i tink to b safe, 1yr.. not bad la, $19, self installation :cheeky:

Okays, thanks for the fast response. Knowledge +1. But a few more things to clarify, when you get 40++ km/l, at what rpm do you change gear? Also, what is the normal speed you travel at?

Fyi, i change gear at RPM 5 or 6 and normal travelling speed is 100 - 110.

Yeah any recommendation as where i can get a bracket for IU to put on top the gas tank area and also nice mirrors at a reasonable price. My mirrors, the stalk are stock so the look fugging ugly and it doesn't really give the bike a 'streamline' shape.

One more thing, who got the CBR 150 manual? softcopy also can. my manual in Thai. Omg. lame shop. lol.

Sorry ah people i very de talkative. Like to ask a lot of question. If i am irritating, blame ZINC, he's the one who intro me to this forum. lol. sorry ah Fai. :)

Cheers ah CBR 150 rocks. Its my 10 year investment bike :)
