semi-synthetic i change every 2500km. my fully synth i change around 4k to 5k. :smile:

hi-temp paint in spray cans dont cost a lot

probably ard $6 per can?

try checking out the neighbourhood hardware stores

u will be surprised that some of them do carry it

 

brand wise, personally i have no preference. all of them seems to give off a weird odour when the exhaust pipe gets heated up the 1st few times after the new coat of paint. within 1-2mths, the black paint will probably look abit grayish already.

 

yr exhaust rusty? if not, maybe just leave it alone.

did mine when i 1st got the bike (2nd hand). it was a total ***** trying to fit the exhaust pipe back nicely. if the exhaust header not fitted tightly enough, will have a air leak sound when u throttle.

Does iridium spark plugs make any difference to the performance of the bike? Feel like changing to iridium ley.

I only tried Platinum ones on the CBR150R, haven tried iridium, i didn't feel much difference actually. u try then tell us? :smile:

upz, how much is it btw? i know normal spark plugs cost about 5 bucks at motorshops, platinum abou 12 i guess, iridium ones ?? :confused:

the mileage can only be used as a guage of wear and tear only to a certain extend. most important of all will be to have the bike engine started and listen for any weird noises. i bought my bike at 62000KM mileage, had to do some usual replacement of wear and tear parts. spent abt $400 in all. no major replacements required though.

Does this bike need to use 2T? As in premix with petrol like Vespa?

 

I saw an ad in the CBR 150 manual of 2T and 4T so just want to re-confirm.

 

Also, if you premix 2T with the oil got and negative or positive effects?

I saw in this forum that they say its alright to drag the gear as long as you don't redline but my friends say don't drag, change at low RPM. They said it may stress the engine. So who is right and who is wrong?

spark plug change is super duper troublesome. if i not wrong must remove the fairing, then unscrew the radiator screw, disconnect spark plug cable then use a spanner and spark plug tool to slow take out the spark plug. i recommend u go shop change 1 time and watch the whole process before u try yourself. at least tt's wat i did!! :smile:

NO!! no 2T needed at all. dun premix as well. combustion process for 2 strokers and 4 strokers are not the same. u will probably spoil ur engine if u premix. :faint:

redlining should be avoided

as for changing gears at higher revs e.g. 7K - 8K, i would think its better not to do it constantly.

on the other hand, this doesnt mean it is good for the gears to be changing gears at super low revs e.g. 3K -4K

 

personally i ride like a pus.sy, changing gears at ard 5K - 6K rpm. occassionally try to whack top speed for that few seconds. hope to keep the engine in working condition and able to gimme that extra bit of power when i needed it.
