it reflects that you have knowledge about your bike, cos after reading all the pages on this thread, i notice that you're the first person to ask about the spare colored fuses under our seats.

either that or you're the first person to fit that many 'trishaw ah beng' lights until your fuse blow. =P

you always like to disturb me on that ah. knn you. lol.

anyway my policy is ride style not ride fast :)

i almost got playlife grips too. actually i dun really like it plus the fact that it doesn't have a hole for balancers so we'll end up have to cut a hole to put the balancer back. ugly if the job's not done properly. :faint: :faint:

yeah true... so you know of any nice grips? yellow is the preferred colour.

zed if talking about overload then do voltage stablizer works. cos there is something in the market for the batt if i not wrong it cost about $70

one of the brand is call revtech

Anyway back to this fuse topic, is it ok to fit in 15 amp fuse for the 10 amp slot. cause the mechanic give me 15 amp. he said no 10 amp.

Oh ya, today went to my bike shop to do up the wiring and stuffs. Was charge $12 but kinda like his workmanship but not sure if can last or not.

Errm, other than that, wasted $35 on air horn. lol now the horn sound like Malaysian lorry. lol. nice to horn idiots who cut into my lane. feel so tempted to use it now but too bad all the drivers seem to be very guai today, never cut my lane :(

hi i dont koe whether to respray my bike is good for change the fairing leh anyone got good price n workmanship for respray my fuel tank there got lots of small patch that look very ugly one side of the fairing got a crack

doing so research first will only do my bike next month after going for track next month will stress my bike to the max when at track

the crack is it on the right side centre piece?

mine cracked too. did a fibreglass patch on the underside of the fairing. supposed to stop the crack from worsening. but it doesnt help to cover the ugly crackline from the exterior. o_O

shouldnt be a problem

in the even of short circuit, both the fuses can still cut off the electricity supply.

where did u mounted the dual horns?

bro got no pics ah so just view the pics below. edited a bit. oh ya sorry lousy powerpoint skills.

Do you think the horn will melt due to heat? Mech say won't ley. ccb mech true or not? but i also gong. everything ok ok ok. lol.

bro, anyway whats the difference between different amperes? If higher put lower can? you get what i mean?

let me try an explain the workings of a fuse in simpler terms. lets take it that:

supply (battery, in this case)= SG checkpoint

load (all the electrical stuff that draw power)= JB checkpoint

fuse= 1st link causeway

current (power)= CBR150

let's say that JB always wants 10 bikes at their checkpoint at all times, because that is the minimum requirement for all your electronics to function. if you send too many bikes over, it will cause damage to your electronics. SG side can send them an unlimited number of bikes, but if SG keeps sending uncontrolled number of bikes over, the battery will overheat. so who will regulate to make sure SG side don't sent them too many bikes?

the 1st link bridge acts like the fuse. meaning to say that the bridge can only take the weight of max 10 bikes at a time. if suddenly 11 bikes go over, the entire bridge will collapse, so as to protect JB side. thus when a fuse blows, it means that there is too many bikes(current) coming over from SG side.

when you put a fuse that's larger than the previous one, it just means that the bridge can now hold more bikes. in normal cases, if the difference in amperage is not too large compared to the original, JB checkpoint should be able to handle this small difference. however, if you change for a fuse with a much larger difference, say original 10amps to replacement 50amps, the bridge can now hold much more bikes, but the JB checkpoint won't be able to 'tahan' the large influx of bikes(current), thus causing damage to JB checkpoint.

if you change to a lower amperage than previous, the bridge now holds less bikes, but JB side still expects 10 bikes to come over, because this is the minimum requirement for your electronics to function. so what happens is that they will 'force' 10 bikes to come over from SG, and when that happens, the bridge collapse (fuse blow) again.

the 2nd part also holds true when you add more load (x'mas lights) on your bike without changing the fuse. so what happens is that JB checkpoint now needs 20 bikes sent over, but your fuse is still the previous 10 bike one. so when JB calls for 20 bikes to come over, the bridge collapse!

the above is just a rough illustration. in actual electrical fact, the battery doesn't 'force' or 'send' current over to the load. it's the load that draws current from the battery, and the fuse is a protection to prevent the load from over-drawing current from the battery, thus causing overheating and stating electrical fires. i apologize for being such a nerd. hope this helps!

what i have is a half cast. which means only the back part is cast, and the rest is wrapped up by bandage. so everyday when i get up i will kaypo go open and see whats going on. all of the abrasion have stopped bleeding and mostly dried up, so thats good. only thing left is all the blue black and swelling, which is taking a while to go away. still, i thank everyone for their concern. =)
