Speaking of FC, yeah its true of what other bros mention FC is not about speed but it also includes your tyre pressure, how hard you break, size of sprocket etc....As for me, standard average for my FC is 40KM/L.

hmmm... i m not very sure abt u guys' CBRs but did a test on mine during the wee hrs @ one of the rounding sessions with my frens... felt the toque coming in during 9k rpm to 10k rpm @ 6th gear... but max speed i can go up to is around 130++km/hr not very sure as my speedo got no lights after 80km/hr... (T.T)

 

Yeah around there i guess. i did 130km/hr before and it still not even full throttle yet but did not dare to go any further. *balls shrink* :cheeky:

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car

and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall,

torque is how far you take the wall with you.

er around 9 to 10k rpm bah... :giddy:

my observations : "smooth" sound from engine, ride become steady, and forward i go until it touches 11k. dared not stay @ 11k for long coz worried might put stress on the engine...

 

correct me if i'm wrong and juz some of my newbie observations :cheeky:

 

p.s. was wearing half face helmet to hear the sound thou mostly i heard was wind blow... -.=

in short torque is something like acceleration, the "pulling" force

and BHP is something like the top speed.

Well.. u have the luxury of comforting urself that cos its an old bike..

my ride was FBB plater but I could only manage 30-33km/L and no way could i improve that..

 

can i know what is your rpm at 100km/hr and 110km/hr..

 

for me its about 7.5-7.7k rpm for 100km/hr while 8k rpm at speed is about 108km/hr MAX but sometime even lower like 102-105..

 

since u have low fc i thinking do u have the same problem as me which is undepower/sluggish throttling..

lucky did not buy the sp carb thats on sale. didn't know that its not allowed to change carb.. sianz.. everything cannot do. lights cannot do, horn cannot do, exhaust cannot do, engine cannot do, even carb also cannot do. sianz.. siANz.. SIANZZZ...

 

seriously i wonder does tp even check carb or not, plus i dont think everyone know so much detail into bike parts.. plus do u even see tp checking your internal ? i think the chances is like so low low low..

 

doesnt mean u can change since i know nothing about the law on that..

If yr bike is well tuned - top speed is higher at 150-160km ............

a little less compare to the 5th laaaa but if u pull the 5th to the limit u will feel the torque at 6th also laaaaaaaaaaa :angel:

does changing to SP carb really help?

i c pple riding cubs also trying out w/ SP carb.

the way i read abt it, the loss in FC is much higher than the gain in acceleration/power.

 

does the SP carb allow too much fuel into the chambers than the rest of the other stock parts can cope with?

i dunno leh.. i dun dare to go beyond 90km/h.. scared leh.. anyway the engine seems to be suffering and the bike is vibrating hard so i dun dare to go higher than that also.. on the expressway, not much braking lah, cos i travel on the innermost or 2nd innermost lane.. i dun dare to go first lane, plus the speed i'm travelling, cars will be tailgating and flashing me.. pressure leh!

 

ya i stay in the east.. at marine parade, sometimes simei..

 

we should all meet for iced tea/coffee/bandung/milo to have a chat! then can ask u guys more too.. hehe..

 

when u all meeting for supper?? =D

 

first of all, top of my list is to change grips and horn.. grips, for less numbness and vibration. horn, because i tried horning at cars and they cant bloody hear me!!!!

Although light are important, No need to see meter one. You should be keeping your eyes on the roads. Other road user slow down (especially taxi) you know that there is speed trap. If you faster than the other driver in lane 1 (while you in lane 3), then you too fast already loh....

 

will never be faster wan.. i'm slower than everybody else, always! even at traffic lights i seldom travel in between lanes to go to the front.. haha..
