dint managed to buy the parts.

the guys frm boon siew hope i dont bug them again for the quotation.

they couldnt even gimme the complete quotation for the parts i wanted after 1mth of waiting.

i can try to link up w/ them again if u r keen to burn abt $300 - 400 on the parts.

i've recently switched from Nippon Pylox to RJ London. i do 4 coats, first thin, next 3 thick. it's glossy, but not as glossy as i would expect.

 

what do you suggest?

my personal recomendation...spray thin & at most, medium layers.

only do it on a relatively hot day. if possible, leave the fairings to dry under the sun. better still if u have got a hairdryer + sunlight combo.

 

due to the gd old environment we live in, having electricity to power hairdryer + be outdoor w/ sunlight is quite difficult.

 

thick coats look good only at the point of time when u just finished spraying. they seem to take forever to dry! and once u run yr fingers over them, u c fingerprints all over.

 

anyway, i always believe that DIY spraying w/ spray cans should only be done on non-crucial parts. doing it for the entire bike will turn disastrous 1 - 2mths down the road. u will c all the cracks form up, etc. so ability to last is an issue.

 

unless u r able to get spray gun + automotive paint + lacquer...

silver tank leave it and play with sticker with a little black and orange or wrap it with tank bra also swee will cause 100 plus for the bra though ... the fairing set should not be a problem can get 1... black head... middle fairing orange... btm fairing black... the tail orange and front fender orange what do u think okae if okae i hunt for u or u got other ideas on how u want to get the color... maybe can get it all around 100 dollars below... so ur project will cost around 200... if u considering the tank bra if not u want to play wit sticker the below hundred can get... cause is not advisable to spray tank lots of complication later

at the same time, help me keep a look out for the left-side handlebar controls set.

the exact part i am interested in is the clutch lever mountings. i.e. the part which the bolt securing the clutch lever to the handlebar controls set.

 

the below of my mounting point (w/ the nut for the bolt) cracked. the clutch lever still holds up though, but a little shaky than normal.

 

oh and if u happen to chance upon an original orange color tank, can let me know also. if the price is right, i may want to change away my tank which currently has a dent at the area where my balls will sit when i am on the bike. can't blame me for having hard balls.

I just did... dropped my bike today at carpark... me put disclock, forgot take out... got down and push the bike back on the RIGHT SIDE....

 

Champion... never check if side stand fully out (its dodgy) just lean it on the left KABOOOOMM!! Clutch lever and handlebar tahan the fall cos i pulling the other way but too late.... landed on my friend's leg..... :cry::cry: Faster go the other side lift up..... Damn side stand!! I'm gg to wield a Phantom sidestand on this thing.... longer and more stable!
