Hi, all, i'm new to biking world, have always been wanting to ride a bike but was too caught up with other commitments. Only now then am able to go ahead with taking of the licence. Before that i would like to know more although it's quite confirm that i'm going ahead with the plan.

 

My plan: take licence.

Question: How much will it set me back? including lessons and test

 

Plan: after pass am looking at getting a Aprilla rs125

Question: What's the cost of road tax, insurance and how's the maintenance of the bike.

 

Plan: upgrade

Question: After how long of riding before i can take 2A then 2?

Cost of taking 2A and 2?

 

Hope all bro and sis can advise. i'm 29 btw. as i presume insurance will need to know roughly.

Licence $500 to $1k? Haha depending on your "ability" duration 7 to 12 mths? I think now wait for tp and theory test rather long..

2A/2 one year after passing the previous class then can apply..

 

For bike price by the time you pass and this post price will change.. So just start saving up till $10k to be comfortable cheers

Road tax $65 to $100 a year for 2B bikes..

Insurance you can actually call companies for quotation..

Rs125 is 2stroke right? Abit sensitive in terms of maintenance.. Maybe can try rs125 forums..

thanks bro. appreciate the replies. i plan to get a secondhand bike. But am afraid of the health of the engine. if i got a class 3 licence do i need to take the theory test again?

bro, never too late to start. I started taking 2B at the age of 41 after driving for the last 20yrs. Took me 9 months as I can only take leasons on weekends. Passed 2B this March and happily riding for leisure. I spent abt 1k in total.

Just to add, Aprilla may not be for the cost concious. If you aim for 2A or 2, just get a normal 2B bike to last you for the one over years while you get your 2A.
