Hi Folks

I am n00b to the bike world and will be buying my first bike from a dealer here in SG. I am going for a used GSR400 and will be paying close to $11k. my question is what all "freebies" can you expect from the dealer without looking like an idiot. new tires?, oil change? etc. any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks in advance.

11k for a used GSR 400 seem overpriced, when is the COE expiring?

Class 2B - 26/03/2009

Class 2A - 01/06/2010

Class 3 - 10/07/2009

Rides(s)

1) Honda TA150 - 20/04/2009 to 31/08/2014

2) Honda CB400 Ver S - 12/07/2014 to ???

COE expires 2019. dealer is throwing in new tires and 1 yr insurance. bike has 50k miles.

It's a slight bit on the high side. Depending on how much your insurance actually is and what kind of tyres you're getting. Opt for something current and at the higher end of the price range if they allow. You may wish to check the forum used bike sale thread, there are some slightly older GSRs, but at a lower price point.

That being said, it's tricky to find any newer GSRs than the 2009 ones, and 50K KM (hopefully not miles, as that would be high-ish) sounds like moderate usage, so no immediate concerns.

sorry yes thats 50k KM. and i am also able to trade-in my existing bike making the process less painful for me (net is $6k). i also get the protection under lemon law which is a nice add-on. my insurance also is a bit high as i am a new rider (less than 2 yrs of experience). i guess i am paying a premium here (for some peace of mind).

thanks for all the input !
