If possible know the history of the bike also if it from PML or Pi. Especially the earlier GS do have some software issue. If the bike you are looking is from PML then most likely the GS will be updated with the software and solved those issues but if it's a Pi GS then you may face with those teething problems e.g. Stall engine and stuck ESA issues.

How often does the software needs to be updated? Can the software still be updated if the warranty had expired? What's the latest software version?

How about technical aspects? I heard there are some issues with the switch and buttons in some of the model. Is it true?

So far from my experience were every time my GSA went in to PML for servicing, there will be at least some form of software updates. The latest updates causes my tpms tire sensors not working properly after my 30k servicing. Already complained to PML on this matter and waiting for their reply. The issue is some times the speedo cannot detect the tire sensors even though the sensors are still good conditions. I'm not the only one with this problem. Another one or two GS owners from our GS group also have/had this issue.

 

And there are the buttons problems too. Stuck down buttons that's why we "called" it Buy More Worry. Lol

Those riding the older Oil Cooled models or any BMW bike models before 2012 will have this ugly rubber key "head" which disintegrates and becomes sticky over time.The newer model's key are way better and nicer. If u wish to change to something of a better quality, wait no more and PM me!
