Guys by changing the light bullb on your headlight would it pass the inspection? Which are the common series U guys tend to use? As in H* ??

philips i believe can pass. the law now says white light can pass, provided there is no bluish or greeninsh tint. so far not an issue with philips series.

hock is right. blue vision is the most yellow, but best illum. diamond vision is most white, but worst illum. crystal vision in between.i must say tho that in s'pore riding, even with e-way blackout the diamond vision works very well in lighting up the road. only if u regularly do m'sia night riding u might want to reconsider diamond vision.

and i oso must say, can get much cheaper brands, but how well they work and whether they pass inspection is anybody's guess. philips is OEM on most bikes inluding ours.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

anyone tried braking double h brake pads ??

review n comment is appreciated !!

on a bike like this, i dun think any of us dare to use anything less than HH grade pads.

the issue is wat brand. grade-wise confirm shd minimum HH.

i just changed donno what 'gold' brand or something from K&T, HH at $35 per set (2 sets front $70). he recommended me the brand, and quoted EBC HH at $65 or $68. i oreddy noe if change i must take HH, so decided to take cheaper brand same grade. i donno stock is what brand (but most probably HH grade too), this one so far works as well as my stock.

rear brakes no need HH grade. in fact i personally think too strong rear pads will hinder rather than help. sportsbike not meant to rely so much on rear brakes coz will fishtail.

by the way, anybody can explain to me what this thing is, what it does and how it works?

my fren '01 R1 had heat problems, temp went up 120+ within 5 mins of traffic jam. his mech couldn find the fault and installed for him this thing behind the number plate, apparently a device to help cool the engine better. it has a tube running to under the tank but i donno go where.

i'd like to noe how it works and whether worth installing to help cool my engine better.

Braking double HH? Never really tested Braking brake pads before but I think the compound should be same as those Gold Fren, etc, normal2 ones..

The EBC double HH rocks tho...:thumb:

It looks like the oil cap replacement thingy (the one we open to pour in our engine oil) from LAB. This cap replaces the OEM one but with a tube extending all the way to the back and with a filter.

Not a gd idea for this mod. Yes, u can reduce the temperture cos there's a opening for the heat to escape. But wat about the oil pressure? Think again....

If adding such a simple stuff helps in reducing the temp effectively, i dont know wat the R&D of various manufacturers are doing.

For heat issues, might be this few causes.

Coolant pump not working.

Not enough coolant. Leaking?

Fan not working.

Faulty thermostat.

Just some of my thoughts.....

Not free this friday, have to skip the meetup....:sian:

Hi guys since there a topic on heating & temperature normally at what temp would U'll warm up your bike before U ride off (especially park over-night)? Also any recommendation on where to install additional cooling fan for the bikes?

Does anyone have the manual for CBR 600RR 04 model?

u mean the diamond vision?

yah, but in terms of illumination, u want white i still see like philips provide the most among al the other white bulbs. i see before other brands, very 'bright' like super-bright white decorative lights on the front of the car, yet it illuminates very little on the road. the diamond vision i try before expressway blackout in singapore its still good. want more illum, use blue vision, but its not white lah of course.

i m using diamond vision

but i can say its a huge drop from the stock stanleys

, i feel the h7 are already weak enuff, compare to my previous H4s are my previous R1

tats why for low beam i use diamon vision, but for high beam i use back the stock stanleys, althogh its yellow, the throw is bery good, white beams dun have much throw or volume

wad i do, i adjust the angles slightly higher, to make me more noticable on the roads, although theres a bad thing abt blinding drivers infront of me

i m comtemplating abt HIDs since now its getting really cheap

for low rev machine....still ok la.

Does anyone have the manual for CBR 600RR 04 model?

For me, i just switch on the engine once i reach my bike. After that will just pack my stuffs like folding my bike cover and keeping it into my bag, wear jacket & helmet, etc. Should be ard 40+ degrees by then. After that, just ride off. Low rev till the temp is stable at 78-80...

Cooling fan no idea. For normal riding, i suppose i dont need any. It's a sportbike, meant for power. And power comes from combustion and hence the heat (and of course the reason for sportsbike's fuel consumption!). CBR600RR is not exactly a very hot bike, still can bear with it most of the time.

I have the hard copy for '04 owner's manual. What do u need? Maybe can check internet if there's any soft copy? For soft copy, i have the service manual and parts catalog.

Yeah, but even for a low rev bike, i wont get it too. It's not the right thing to do in the first place.

The mod is not curing the root of the problem and uses an incorrect method to 'cover' it. The problem with singapore mechanics.....

You can always buy a PC fan from Sim Lim & install at the radiator side there. Make a switch or something so you can turn it on if you find your engine getting too hot.

But I dun't think you need it these few days. :cheeky:

my stock bulbs are philips h7, not stanleys. i still have them. and i find them sufficiently bright for total darkness secondlink. alvz can vouch for that, he was directly in front of me dat time :cheeky: but i cant say how they compare to stanleys or R1 lights. HID, i oso very worried electrical issues.

and i dun find the RR having serious heat issues. was just curious bout the device, so thanx for warning me against it. i dun think it needs additional fan or anything. tho i find its better and different with maxima cool-aid compared to ordinary coolant. just dun expect 'better' to mean less heat between your legs.

theres a soft copy of 03/04 manual among these pages, just donno which page it is.
