No problem... that is, if they sell the thing on E-bay. But what i normally see is that most sellers overseas would sell their bikes NOT as a whole but rather, take the parts out & sell it by pieces. What I normally do in this case is to e-mail the seller & ask whether he can sell the part to me at a good price, which he usually does, but the exception being the postage price is too high.

What you can also do is to take the piece out & try and see if you can weld it back.

eh anybody know how to paste rim stickers? i just bought a strip and now donno how to properly paste :cheeky:

the sticker is one long straight strip; but the rim is circular and the surface to paste on got contour wan. shd i cut the strip into quarters and paste quarter by quarter? halves? smaller still? or got some technique?

nah u dun have to cut it, at least i didnt.

What u wanna do is be patient and paste it slowly fingering it down bit by bit and it will curl itself along the rim. What u dun wanna do is overstretch it, that would cause breakages after some riding when the stretch limit is exceeded.

Best to finish it off with a bit of lacquer and thinner. i dunno the exact composition mixture. What i did was with a small amt of lacquer, add thinner bit by bit to lighten the goey mix till u get a nice smooth solution. (the lacquer itself is pretty sticky and gooey and yellowish)

With a small tip paintbrush, dip that to the lacquer/thinner mix and coat ur rim stickers.

It gives that added protection from peeling and routine tire cleaning.

PS : spend some time realingning, it tends to go off tangent ... or maybe im just a troll

niways good luck w that, what color did u get, yellow or RED?

aiyah, wanna intro something make sure its a product thats available lah! make me excited then realize nobody knows how to get this in singapore.....

it seems a lot of people complain of stretch marks over time. so the sticker really doesn last long huh. what a shame.

ok, how exactly u manage to trace the entire rim in one shot? wont u get blocked by the mud guard (in the case of the front) and the chain/swing arm? half way paste just put down the roll of sticker and push the bike?

and i haven got any lacquer or thinner around me, but i do have a can of lacquer spray. would that be a sufficently good alternative, or better not spray at all?

PS : spend some time realingning, it tends to go off tangent ... or maybe im just a troll

yah the dam thing going off tangent is precisely why i'm asking in the first place. easy stickers i already tend to mis-cue, so this one like i confirm off-tangent. i see other rims look so nicely done. from a distance anyway.

i asked for white and aunty gave me this reflective white thingy which comes across like a light shade of silver. to be honest, on its own it looks like a 'non-colour', like something ppl paste for practical purpose rather than decorative, but because it looks like the same shade of silver as my fairing from a distance, it might just look matching. which was wat i wanted in the first place, coz my bike has too little red and no yellow at all, the 2 common rim sticker colours i see on others' rims. i would prefer flat white, but well they dun have it. whether this collour will look nice on the bike, i'll see after i paste it.

the product looks good, but the price including shipping is just too much. for that price, i rather get a pair of keiti hand grips.

yeah that was what was holding me back

i even asked FatBiker to get manufacturers to custom make it in China but not practical since they need a large minimum order

yeah man. i not willing pay more that S$15 for a full set of those stickers, but i doubt even with an MO u can bring the price including shipping down that low, if u get to reduce the price with an MO at all.

but that 'outdoor vinyl' sticker actually i believe can use the one found at a shop in bras basah complex, the kind i think like $8 per 1m and all colours have, and some people use it to paste on fairings. i see before they cut the sticker using a design made on a computer program, then the machine cut the sticker according to the design. maybe if give them the dimensions, they can cut out and give us just like the product. but i donno whether they can do it or how much it'll cost to cut into wat we want.

i put a jack(lined with a cloth) below the exhausts to prop the rear and front (one at a time) this way the wheel spins freely and u can line the stickers at one go w/o having to constantly push the bike back and forth when u run out of sticker space.

lacquer spray, even with the needle nozzle, its gonna be messy, see whether u can spray the contents into a small plastic cup, then use a paintbrush from there.

I didnt do mine too good either, but i can live with it.

lets get some kodak moments once ure done
