It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

I went to Tai Hin at kallang bahru industrial..was recommended by the alarm seller...

Alarm installed under the seat ah bro...he say the wires wont melt..coz our bike few wires can be found under the seat too...there's a plastic insulator above the pipe area.

Yup mine two way alarm..useful to me ah bro, coz i park at multistorey same level with my house..if the bike alarm goes off..the remote will sound too..but if park elsewhere where ur not within the range, ur remote wont sound.

Those who wana buy an alarm, dun buy with auto start function, coz it will spoil our CDI.

does it "sound off" when someone swift de bike?

my alarm, 4 levels of sensitivity.

but i realise its more of 'shock' sensor rather than 'motion'.

at most sensitive, rocking the bike will set it off. but very sensitive of coz. at next most sensitive, unfortunately rocking wont set it off (one good thing from this is wind wont set off the alarm), but a good slap with my palm on my pillion seat will set it off, and so will landing my butt hard on the rider seat. but rocking side to seat while straddling between my leg wont.

I am interested in alarms too. But with the easy accessibility to the batt of our bikes, it only takes little knowledge to disarm the alarm. Any solution to it?

Most alarm trigger off from vibrations, that's the reason why some actions like lifting the bike from side stand doesnt trigger it off. I have heard of alarms with tilt sensor, no idea if it works.

Guesswho:

U mean under the pillion seat?

in theory, i think yes.

i believe in cars, the alarms are rigged indirectly, meaning nnot straight from the batt. with bike ignition off, electricity is still being drawn from batt to components such as the digital dashboard. so in theory, u can tap into these indirect wiring rather than directly to batt. but i donno how feasible is this on our bikes, and it requires a higher technical knowledge.

the risk is, when a short a circuit occurs in the alarm unit, the connection to the other components is gonna short and damage all these too. with only direct connection to batt and nothing else (not even lights etc), then any short will only damage the alarm unit.

the more difficult for thief to dismantle, the more difficult for me to dismantle too. wat if one day my remote control damaged and i cant disarm the alarm via remote? quite chialat if i donno how to manually dismantle. pros and cons, this. i've decided that direct connection to batt is sufficiently troublesome to dismantle for thieves, yet simple enuff for me to dismantle if need be. besides, i use the alarm to deter minor acts of mischief; i think the HISS is a much better deterrent than any alarm in any kind of 'whole bike gone' kind of theft. any thief who can overcome the HISS can overcome any alarm system.

i guess the term "alarm" used for car & bike is slight different in meaning.

car "alarm" due to it mess....was more for prevent item inside the car to be stolen.but no cure if the window is smacked.yeah?

bike "alarm" is more for scaring ppl to stop whatever action been done to de bike.we know that bike parts are much easy to "borrow" then cars.

so where the alarm is install wouldnt stop a thief with proper tools.things will still be taken apart with or w/o alarm.

i'm tempted to run two open loop electrical connection with manual arming switch to de seats.....ok..i hope SPCA dun come knocking my doors...if fur were found near my bike.
