1. What kind of fuel does it drinks? Heard "Premium" fuel, does it mean "V-power" or at least 98?

Mine drinks rocket fuel........ ok minimum had tried is 95 still runs ok not ping.

2. How much does the panniers holds?

The panniers can hold a full face helmet, rain cost ,a xxl bike cover and plus plus rubbish thrown in with no problem.

3. Excel quote $28000 for the bike, never say its machine price or OTR. But this price plus COE $1300, plus another $1500 for insurance and road tax, add up altogether is $30800. Loois selling this bike at $33000 on the road. Can it be true?

Yes Loois quoted one price and no hidden cost involve. When you collect your bike key and go.

You need to check do they have things like admin fees, erp charges, etc etc.... Cos I know some bike shops quote you a lower price when you collect your bike it's another price altogether.

I can't wait to see the bike in July.

Wonder why this bike is more expensive than STX1300?

Price for STX1300 still highter than GTR14 in other countries.

Why bike shops here charge us 4K more?

If you're riding a bike but not calculating the 50 possibilities in the 50 meters of road ahead of you, then you're dangerous and shouldnt be on one.

1 possible reason is cos the STx could be the 2009 models (no enhancement in 2010).

I don't think it is becos the STX is a 2009 model. I believe it is purely becos they can sell the kawa like a hot cake, so they tend to charge more. Really hope those nippon bikes can consider setup a south east headquarter here in singapore to service the entire Malaysia, indo and singapore. We might able to get a more resonable price afterward.

I had this problem before. But i am not too sure whether your problem is same as mine.

Engine oil was leaking from one of the stopper behind the radiator. During the cold start, the smoke will come out of fairing when after the bike warm up. According to my mech, the engine oil that leaked on the exhaust header evaporated after the heat is on. That explained the smoke.

MOreover i have noticed drop in my engine oil level too. Better get it check before the engine oil dropped too low

Finally traced!

Looks like minor leakage from under the cam cover. Damn, looks like a new gasket coming up.

Cheers for the suggestions anyway.

Add in copper washers if you changing those gasket. Will solve the problem once n for all.

Copper washers... where do they go?

You place the washers on the bolts which you remove on the left side of the cam cover. That is where the leak is. 2 3/8"(M10) washers on each bolt. When you buy the gasket, check the part number. The old gasket number is 11061. Changing into this will still lead to the problem again. Apparently, Kawi is aware of the situation and came up with a thicker gasket in 2010. The part number should be 11061A. Alternatively, this could solve the problem as well. Do not neglect any leaks. Some info on leaks as follows:

External Oil Leaks

Some of the many points where external oil leaks may occur include: oil lines, crankcase drain plug, oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, oil pump gasket, fuel pump gasket, timing case cover and camshaft bearing seal. No possible source of leakage should be neglected because even a very small leak will cause extremely high oil consumption. For example, it has been estimated that a leak of one drop of oil every twenty feet is approximately equal to a loss of one quart of oil every 100 miles. The best way to check for external leaks is to road test the vehicle with a large piece of light-colored cloth tied under the engine. Oil on the cloth will indicate a leak which should be traced to its source.

Very detailed, thanks. I will definitely look out on those part numbers.

Sounds like you may have gone through this before?

Not yet.. mileage still low. Since it is a common problem all aound, did my research 1st. Everything is ready should it happen. If you are in urgent need for the gasket, u can contact me. Have one with me. Don't think will need it soon. I can always order another.
