Hmmm.. will it cause any engine problem in long run ?

 

 

I did a search and found that there are 2 models of the BMC air filter:

Model Year Shape Code

1400 GTR / CONCOURS 14 07> Flat 466/04

1400 GTR / CONCOURS 14 07> Flat 466/04 RACE

 

If you install the race version then you need the after market exhaust and PC to compensate the freer air flow.

it all depends on the severity of the backfiring, but in your case u dont have this issue so not to worry.

 

the 2010 models may come with different fuel/ignition maps due to the inclusion of the eco mode?

Yes very easy. just hv to remove the glove box side e plastic, fairing n some relays to reach the air filter..

You will feel the pop at higher rpm. My does not poooooop riding in Singapore only when I'm in Malaysia riding about 7k rpm on 6 gears and close trottle then can hear the pooooop.... Maybe you should try it without the silencer from you exhaust it's even smoother. Try it.

Did you block off the kleen air injector?

 

Grab a marble, pull the tube out from the airbox, plug up the tube with the marble, then put everything back. This might stop the backfiring.
