Hi all.. Check with you all if it is normal for my FC to be 269km before reserve.. That is also when i on my eco mode most of the time.. Hmmmm.. I miss my STx tank!!..

 

my eco-less mode gtr gets about 295-310km b4 reserve for city riding.

Hi CMYRS, we've got abt the same mileage before 'Fuel Low' starts to blink. No eco mode as well on zx14...hehe

it`s funny....

cuz when i was running in, i always get such numbers too...

it was the direct opposite that many ppl tells me..

usually, ppl say that running in will get **** figures.... then after run in will have better FC..

 

for it, it`s been the reverse all along...

b4 run in, full tank can usually last me 300-320 for a full tank...

just after i hit the run in... the FC become like 240-250 per tank..

well.. at 1st i thought it was because i whack the bike quite hard sometimes..

just to test it`s performance...

hahaha..

 

then... the fc nv picked up again..

now it`s constantly abt 240 per tank..

anyway i already gave up on saving petrol...

i`ve a fren who ride a cls 2 bike who told me....

`come on, u buy u bike to save fuel?? just let it run man!`

 

after thinking through, i though , yeah it`s a fun bike, wanna save petrol maybe can use other transport.. haha..

well, as long as my Fc is not like 5km per liter, i guess i`m quite ok with it...

 

i tink it`s more important to have fun on the bike rather than harbouring on the few km per tank... hahaa..

u have a great bike, look at the pros more often than it`s flaws, u`ll feel better riding it.

initially, i was tinking 2wice to put some bling on my bike..

but come to tink of it,

there isnt really much i wanna put..

 

i love the silent pipes. (no need LV/2 bros)

i had enuff of the power ( no need PC5 )

i tink it handles well ( no need ohlins )

i love the wind at my face sometimes ( no need tall shield )

i have iron butt ( no need corbin )

 

lemme see, what else i need??

of cuz, i don mind if someone wanna donate!

well, i`ll tink it`s quite a perfect stock bike as itself..

mybe along the way , will get a few R1s to try out or a harley to bling...

but this gtr, it`s staying... hahaha

My hexacone's quieter than stock and lighter too. It's a petrol saving.

since french biker went home,

there hasnt been any meet ups for the 14s,

 

anyone keen?

how abt next thur nite for a short trip to kulai?

next fri`s a holiday btw...

 

any 14s up for the meet up?

wanna clear some carbon also and meet up with the new 14s owners..

or we can make it a FJR/Kawa 14s meet up, simple seafood or nasi lemak if got malay bros..

Anybody here has a projectd radiator guard on please do remove it to check. I had it removed cos they sent me some foams to insert on to the alu frame. When I removed the guard I found that the top right corner fins had been dented due to rubbing of the guard.

 

I had been riding without the guards for the last 3 days and I found it ran cooler it did not heat up that fast...........

 

In the ang mo GTR forums it had been reported that the guard's rivet actually puntured the radiator due to that....

Dont know if u experienced this last time but the map plotted an extra long route of 1300km instead of about 450km from Hatyai to Phuket?

 

Didnt give another alternative even after hitting the Detour button.

 

But it was accurate and reliable on the island, didnt skip a beat.

Hmmm.....I would think the ZX would get slightly better economy for city riding, being 30-40kgs lighter, making the GTRs 6th gear obsolete?

proper running in is essential not just for better FC but reliability of the engine components.

 

from my observation, my previous bikes FC continues to improve till just after the 15,000km mark.

 

the GTR after 12,000km is also showing better FC at higher speeds, i.e. more fun for less buck.

Glad the map helps. Actually the maps are not meant for auto routing that explains the extra long route......

it`s been so quiet recently...

anyway,

 

my rear tire leaking..

but cannot find the leak...

sadz!!!

 

slowly each day 1 psi...

hahah SAD !!!!!!!!!!

 

Your bike got main stand? If got, it's so easy. Just get a pail of foamy soap water and look for rushing air bubbles and hissing sound. Quite fun! :D

so i pumped yesterday to 43 psi....

but this morning is 36 only...

hello... just cruising thru this forum.

try tighten-ing the inlet valve stem, if there is a nut there.

if there is no nut, it could be the rubber washer has been thru wear n tear?

sometimes, it the inner parts of the valve stem itself tat is worn.

did u "bubble-check" the side wall too?

just had it fixed..

 

the leak is on an old punture..

the nail got into the tire at an angle...

but i patched it straight...

so now patch the hole.. it`ll be leaking again soon...

haha

soon the hole will get bigger and bigger...

 

tink i better tour more...

and finish this problematic tire...

I also never do before. I don't have so much $$$ to wear off my tyres pre-maturely :p
